I purchased this one, the aluminum one from Volquartsen, and the steel one from Ranch. This one is the best value, it fits well and looks pretty good. The aluminum looks and fits the best but is the most expensive. The steel one looks out of place and fit loose.

Other reviewers have commented on part appearance and quality. Almost all of these problems are due to poor molding practices by the processor. Wrinkles in the surface are caused by cold tooling or cold material during molding. Sinks in the surface are due to low pressure, short shots or cold material during molding. Tool temperature and material temperature also contribute to tolerance problems as the material shrinks during cooling. Nylon has a high mold shrinkage compared to most thermoplastics and must be accounted for during processing and tool design. A quick visual inspection when parts are ejected would eliminate most of these cosmetic and tolerance problems. The material must be free of moisture during processing and then allowed to absorb moisture after processing to eliminate the possibility of brittle parts. Nylon needs moisture to maintain it's strength.

Easy to install and much superior to factory device. Magazine just falls out when depressed. Not as big as some releases which go under trigger which I like for compactness. Go ahead and install bolt release at same time and you will be amazed at how much better the weapon functions.

I installed this on my one older 10/22.
It was easy to install and functioned perfectly.
My other three 10/22s are newer and come with this mag release on them.
Also, Midway is a great company to deal with. I have never had a problem with them in the many years I have been a customer.

Highly recommended product! It literally took longer to read the directions than it took to replace the part. And, it works great! Much easier mag changes than with the factory part. If you have a 10/22, you need this.

Purchased this along with an automatic bolt release, recoil buffer pin and hex take-down screws for both my custom target and standard carbine 10-22s. Installed everything on both in about 25 minutes and had them out to the range that afternoon. Everything functions flawlessly, just as expected.

I wrote a review earlier where I gave this one star because it had a casting flaw that made it unusable. I wrote to Bell and Carlson to tell them of the problem and that I was leaving on my annual squirrel shoot with my dad in four days. They sent me a new one by Priority Mail. The replacement arrived in time for my trip and it works great. I now have great respect for Bell and Carlson.

Can't comment on durability yet because I just installed this part. Fits great, goes in easy. Nice positive contact, definitely makes dropping the mag much more fluid, no fumbling around. It's bigger than the stock mag release but it's not one of those big cartoony super long competition type levers. It's just the right size, IMO. Probably sticks below the receiver about 1 inch.
