Product Information

Great for training and practice, this 22 LR conversion kit allows inexpensive target shooting through your favorite firearm. Shoots and functions like the regular AR-15, except the bolt doesn't remain locked open after the last shot, with no significant change in weight and balance. Assembly is incredibly simple and only requires replacement of the original bolt carrier. No permanent modifications are required for use. Includes three 26-Rnd magazines for more shooting fun and less time spent reloading. For Semi-auto AR-15's only, will not work for M-16's.

Bought this kit so my wife could enjoy shooting my AK when we go enjoy a litle practice.Only to find out the the twist variable on 223 and 22lr did not make much if any DIFERANCE at 100yrd or less, I feel that this was a great buy for deversifying my AR-15.

Bought this as an alternative to shooting much more expensive 5.56/223 ammo. Installed bolt carrier in less than a minute (takes longer to remove it from packaging than it does to install). Magazines fit my PSA reciever perfectly out of the box (no sanding or filing). Have ran approximately 500 rounds of bulk and tactical ammo through it with not one failure to feed, or failure to eject. Overall am extremely satisfied with this product as it performs exactly as its suppose to and flawlessly. My order arrived on time and packaging was impressive, thanks Midway!!

Awesome! This thing work flawlessly in my DPMS upper. No malfunctions even at rapid fire. (as fast as I can pull the trigger) Note. You will have to sand down the tabs on the magazines for them to fit properly. Make sure you do a little at a time and test fit. Once you take too much off, you can't go back and you'll have a loose fitting magazine.

Shoots great! Had to sand a couple of spots on the mags down to fit my AR, but the instructions covered all of this. Loaded up the first couple of mags less than 20 minutes after opening the box. No problems at all. Fed great and cycled perfect. Was using Remington Thunderbolt ammo. I have found this ammo to cycle all of my 22's very well. My AR is an Aeroprecision lower with a DPMS upper. Great price, great product. I am very pleased overall and recommend this product highly.

Awesome!! This product is great. I had a few jams in my first 100 rounds but from what I have read this is common until the bolt gets worn in. What a blast to shoot. I was able to sight in my new scope without spending a fortune on .223 ammo. The way I see it I saved close to $30.00 on my first afternoon with it!

Absolutely love this!! I bought this a week ago, finally got to go out this Saturday and try it out. All the problems I had I can attribute to faulty ammo. I was able to put a full 26 rounds in and fire all of them as fast as I could pull the trigger. About 75 rounds into it I had a shell almost completly seperate from the rim. I tried sub sonic 20 year old ammo, new ammo, 1600 fps ammo and 1750 fps ammo. The faster ammo felt better with better accuracy, there was no difference in the ability to fire. I am now buying one for my Father in Law. We fired around 550 rounds before we got cold and packed up. Last thing I did was put the regular bolt back in, and fired 30 rounds of 5.56 without any problems. The kit came oiled but I wiped it and oiled it anyway. My whole idea is to go out and practice with the .22's, but leave everything sighted in for 5.56, so when I grab the AR for a coyote, everything just comes up natural and feels good, just a bigger bang, while saving a heap of money. Just remember, .22 ammo is filthy, and you will have plenty of cleaning to do when you are done. Definately recommend.

I purchased this item more than a year ago. Huge savings on ammo! I initially had issues with feeding and ejections while using bulk ammo. I was not as lucky as other reviewers I guess. I purchased CCI high velocity ammo and used some dry lube for about 1000 rounds and that did the trick. Now the CMMG Conversion will eat anything I put in it. It is simple to clean and install. I don't feel too bad now when friends and family shoot magazine after magazine of my ammo through my AR.

The bolt came pretty dry, so a good oiling is needed. I had no issues once I figured out the magazines. I have to file the tabs down. There were little pieces of paper actually telling you might need to do this. A quick zip with a Dremel, all was good. One issue I had, but not a show stopper, the magazines should not be loaded to capacity. Had issues with feeding at first until I reduced the number of rounds to about 20. Maybe after the spring break-in, it will get better. Ran about 200 rounds through it with zero failures on a RRA.

I received this conversion kit last week and am very happy with it. I shot a box of 550 Federal bulk ammo through it. Out of the 550 rounds I had three fail to extract. The only other problem with it is keeping the mags loaded. I bought two extra mags and had a hard time refilling them while my wife and daughters shot them. I would buy this kit again.
