Product Information

The bullet that started the company, Nosler Partition Bullets feature a fully tapered jacket that ruptures instantly at the thin jacket mouth, yet the gradual thickening along the bullet's axis controls expansion and curls the jacket uniformly outward at high or low velocities.

Nosler's integral Partition supports the expanded mushroom and retains the rear lead alloy core. The enclosed rear core retains more than half the original bullet weight for deep penetration. The special crimp locks in the rear core section, adding strength to resist deformation under the pressure of heavy magnums. This is not loaded ammunition.

Loaded with Varget this bullet is launched out of a 16 inch M and P Sport 5.56 at 2950 fps. Accuracy is .625 inch at 100 yds and accounted for 4 hogs so far up to 211 yds. With a well-constructed bullet like the NP harvesting medium size game appears to be no problem when shots are kept under 250 yds for the 223.

I was looking for a bullet that I could use in my 22-250 to harvest whitetail deer and settled on this one. I developed some hot handloads with Varget powder and set off to the deer woods. I have harvested 1 mature doe with it that was shot broadside at 50 yards behind the front shoulder. The bullet completed a clean pass thru with no expansion at all (assumed based on entrance and exit hole size on the deer hide) and the deer expired about 50 yards away from where it was shot. Upon skinning the deer the vitals had been turned to mush but there was no blood trail left due to the small entrance and exit hole.

I recently bought my first "all-purpose" varmint, deer, and hog rifle. I settled on a Remington 700 VTR in .223 Remington, topped off with a Tasco 2.5x10 Target/Varmint scope.In my gun, Nosler's 60gr Partition, with H-335, will make groups that keep me under a half-inch at 100 yards. This bullet and Nosler's 60gr Ballistic Tip will be the only two bullets that ever go through my rifle.

I get great groups with the 60 grn. Nosler partitions behind H414 in my Savage 10 Max 1. Loaded this bullet to see what it would do on Georgia whitetail. Shot a doe at 75yds broadside. She was 125 lbs. Nice pass through. Ran maybe 40 yds. and crashed. Great small caliber hunting bullet. Shot placement still very important in small caliber such as my 22-250. Very impressed with Nosler partition and stabilizes nicely in my 1:12 twist barrel. My tracking buddies were impressed with entry and exit...thought we would be tracking for a while. NOT SO!

While trying to come up with something that my daughter might be able to shoot for deer hunting I ran across this bullet. I was scared to even think about shooting a deer with a 22. I loaded up a box for a Rem. 700 SPS compact tactical. Shot 1/2 higher than the Hornady 75gr. BTHP match that it was sighted in with. Shot two deer, both broadside shots, one at about 80 yards, one near 200 yds. First one ran about 45yds and piled up. Second one never moved and collapsed but got back up but could not move, just kept falling back down. Both shots just behind the shoulder, both complete pass thru, both bullets held together and gave a single exit wound. Heavy damage in both chest cavities and a lot of blood on both. Hope this helps.

I have a CZ527 Kevlar ...

I have a CZ527 Kevlar Varmint in .223 Rem. Had no problem working up a load that was within 1 MOA. Several powders worked for me, but I settled on TAC with a moderate load that gave me around 3000 fps. With my 9" twist barrel, it's a very stable performer. My rifle actually shoots the 75-grain Swift Scirocco more accurately in cool to warm weather at 3300 feet altitude, but in subzero weather it can become a bit unstable as soon as the barrel gets moderately copper fouled, which can happen within 10 shots. I believe the Scirocco would become unstable at sea level out of a 9" twist barrel even on a warm day (Swift recommends an 8" twist.....but that's unconditionally stable under all conditions). Since this Partition bullet will work well out of any barrel from 7" to 12" twist rate, it is the more versatile of the "tough" .224 bullets. Too many reports of Barnes bullets not expanding at long ranges for me to risk that bullet, but the Partition has an excellent reputation for expanding at a wide range of impact speeds, and fouling is less than copper bullets. It's the "Jack of all trades" in .224 cal for predators and medium game. To get a bullet that performs better in any one area, you seem to lose even more in other areas. A bit pricey, but this is serious medium game hunting ammo, not prairie dog fodder.

I have used this bullet for several years over 22 grns. of 10X. I get sub 1" groups @ 100 yds. w/ this load. Used it last year to take 3 large does @ ranges from 75 - 150 yds. & every one dropped in their tracks. Impressive exit wounds on all three. Very happy with this bullet.

I tried several gun/bullet combinations last year during our very liberal deer season. One combination involved my AR15 and the Nosler Partition. A doe at 50 yards took the bullet broadside right behind the shoulder. She ran about 30 yards leaving a light blood trail. The bullet exited her neck. The neck damage ruined the neck meat, but proved to me that with good shot placement and the Nosler bullet, the 223 can be expected to be a reliable deer caliber in the hands of a seasoned hunter.

My first year with my Savage 22-250 FLV, IMR4320 semi-accurate loads(have refined my testing since then). I used these exclusively on whitetail last year. Every deer I shot was 150-50 yds, one shot one kill, 4 deer total. Never recovered a bullet. Head shots speak for themselves, broadside lung shots shattered the offside shoulder then exited. I plan to use this load on antelope and deer this year as well.

I have been a Midway customer for many years and would first like to commend the company on their exemplary service and determination on providing the sporting enthusiast with the finest products available on the market. Secondly, I would like to say that, despite a significant disability due to a work-related injury, I regularly hunt wild hogs from my ATV and use the Nosler 60 grain partition over a maximum load (by the book) of Hodgdon Varget to harvest hogs weighing up to 250 pounds, most often with just one shot. Shooting distances range from point-blank in one scary instance up to 150 meters using a 16" AR-15. I have had no feeding problems using Forster, Redding, or Dillon dies and the bullets penetrate the heavily "armored" shoulder or head of these animals with ease. They are well worth their fair and affordable price and are completely reliable for hunting animals that are as large as deer. Thanks, Midway!
