I have this base on 2 different 300 Weatherby Magnums and on a 444 Marlin. Its solid and one of the best mounting systems out there. Get the Leupold rings as well. You won't be sorry.

Part of the base extends ...

Part of the base extends over the ejection port. Also utilizes only one of the two screws at the rear. Does NOT PROVIDE ENOUGH EYE RELIEF ON THE TWO DIFFERENT SCOPES I have had on it. Seems not to be properly engineered for the Model 16!

Good solid mount. ...

Good solid mount. Surfaces are machined perfectly to match the receiver. Holes line up perfect and screws are torx type being of proper length for each position. The front dovetail is tight, making the match up just as solid. The matte finish is consistent throughout and match Leopolds matte rings. Alignment is as close to perfect. I only needed a .1000 of an inch shim on the front saddle to boresight.
