Product Information

Hornady's V-Max Bullets feature a polymer tip which enhances accuracy and promotes devastating expansion. The tip raises the ballistic coefficient for faster velocity and helps to stabilize the bullet in flight. It also acts as a wedge, initiating bullet expansion.
The copper jacket provides the necessary bearing surface for maximum stability out of the barrel, and the jacket is built to withstand the fast twist rates of the most advanced varmint rifles.

This is not loaded ammunition.

These aren't intended for big game. The v stands for varmint. If you want a 110 grain vmax they have them, in .308 cal. Great performance on anything you don't intend to eat.

These shoot great from my 1-8 twist Shillen barrel in 260 Remington with RL 15, They are probably on the ragged edge of fragmenting at the muzzle from the 8 twist which is why they are so destructive on groundhogs. Did I mention .25 groups? I do wish Hornady would make a 6.5 vmax in the 110 grain range.

This is not!!!!!! A deer bullet if you like venison. Whatever it hits blows up. Very accurate in my 6.5/08 Ackley 9" twist barrel. Vel.3400fps. This is the varmint bullet for a 6.5 cal.

I use these bullets in a savage model 10 260 Rem. Sub 1" at 200 yds. They perform so well that for the last several years I have used them for my offhand 100 yd. balloon and egg shoots. They will vaporize a water balloon at 100 yds. Excellent bullet performance and accuracy. Great job Hornady.

I'm using these bullets in a Rem 700 BDL SS. I'm still trying to develop a final load using 4064, but so far they show good potential well within suggested powder range. I was able to target 3 vel. windows in the upper half of my powder range that produced .75 MOA off a bench. May need to adjust seating die a little deeper for these bullets, they initially jammed against the lans around my usual OAL. Still looking forward to seeing what they do on a coyote.

I bought a box of these bullets for my 6.5 Grendel and they shoot outstanding with Hodgdon H335. 6 Shot Group .7" from a 16" barrel. They shot so well I decided to take them whitetail hunting and took a 7pt with one clean shot. The bullets are lightly constructed and are not ideal for large game, but they did provide a very humane one shot drop.

Those who say they can't get there Military Swedes to handle light bullets need to look here. M38 (scoped) sub MOA (some 3 shot groups just over 1/2" at 100 M) in front of 45.5 gr 760 and cci mag rifle primer. This excedes max so work up my rifle is fine yours may not be. performance has been excellent (clean kills)

V-Max is deadly on deer! I load my 6.5mm Rem Mag with 4064 and they are sub moa. 1 shot kills. I have to neck shoot because of the massive tissue destruction. It is like a bomb went off inside the deer. I would not advise shooting in the front quarters. You will have to discard both shoulders. No blood trailing. Get out of the tree and pick up your deer! End of story...

A very accurate bullet. weights and OD are very consistent. I shoot these out of a 6.5 Grendel with 18 in bbl. I'm using Ramshot data of X-terminator. The very first group was 0.417". I'd say it has plenty of promise. Haven't been able to try on vermin yet. I'm in a no lead, save the condor area so I'll have to travel some distance to escape this law.
