The Mako universal picatinny scope mount will work with most pistols that have a picatinny accessory rail on the frame. The mount is constructed of reinforced polymer for a strong yet light mount. The iron sights on most pistols can be used with the mount installed.

This is a great product ...

This is a great product and among all others of the same basic design/idea/function I think this is the one to get.Some caveats: 1.) it is not quite tall enough for a Springfield XDM .45, I saw a vid review where someone said they filed it out a bit and it then fit, so be aware if that's your gun, that is one of my 2 guns I got this for. My other gun is an FNP-45 and it fit that fine.2.) When it arrived I didn't realize the 2 sides were pushed in a little and it wouldn't go on my rail and was shearing a little of the polymer, until I realized it needed spreading out a little with a flathead/pry method, then it went on and off fine. Take a look at the slot if yours doesn't slide on at first.3.) Again this is a great product, it's LIGHT as a feather! but I returned mine for this one reason: I do not find a reddot on a handgun is at all "fast target acquisition" for me, this is merely my experience, but I have 35"(shirtsleeve) arms and the sight ends up way too far out front and it in fact takes me a long time to even find that dot. I can line up my standard sights 10 times faster. I love a reddot on my AR, it is mounted a lot closer to my eye on the AR, on a handgun it is crazy far away. This is only my experience, and the Mako + a cheap reddot is a lowcost way to test this out before you plunk $500 for a trijicon RMR.

I have several semi auto ...

I have several semi auto pistols and this mount worked with 5 out of 6 but none of them are compact or sub-compact. Only thing you really have to check is to make sure the ejection opening stays clear when you pull the slide all the way back. Of course, with this mount and some kind of scope you will have a really hard time finding a holster :-) Took off one star because this should not cost more than $30 or so...

Does not work on my XDm. Takedown lever is in the way. Does not work on my Taurus PT 38S, does not clear front sight.

Mine sure look and feels like aluminum... Very well constructed. Did not fit the pistol I bought it for (not tall enough) it does fit two others I own.
