Glass is clear, however ...

Glass is clear, however the manufacturer misrepresents the item. This is NOT a pistol scope! This is an intermediate eye relief scope, aka a scout scope. If you are looking for a decent scope to mount on your carbine as a scout scope, this will work wonderfully. If you are looking for a scope to mount on a heavy recoiling handgun, this is NOT for you. I don't know many people who shoot handguns 8 to 10 inches from their faces, and frankly I don't WANT to know anyone like that. I would recommend it as a scout scope, but I would shy away from this as a handgun scope.

I am updating the report I made a few months ago. At that time, I gave 5 stars based on only 1 trip to the range. Now, after several trips to the range, I have found that parts are shaking loose, and the zero has shifted. I might move this from a high recoil gun to one with low recoil.

Excellent for the price. Like others said, it is more of a scout scope than a pistol scope, with medium eye relief. I put one on a Marlin 450 Guide Gun, which has very heavy recoil, and it held its zero (so far). Note: The Midway description does not say this, but the scope comes with mounting rings, so you do not need to buy rings.

Optics arent too bad, used one on a 7mm mauser as a scout scope. After about 20 rnds it would no longer hold zero! Put another one on my Taurus 44mag tracker, just shooting 44 special loads! Same problem, not worth the money. BSA is junk, and I have 4 China made scopes, and wont buy anymore! Good glass, but the guts are junk!

Received this scope and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked considering the low price. I mounted mine using a set of weaver .22 rifle rings on my Moisin Nagant 1891/30. It mounted well on the rear sight base after removing rear sight. It's a bit tight, but the rings will fit completely on the sight and scope with a little room to spare. Even with a "1 limb saver recoil pad the eye relief is good. Would highly recommend this scope (especially for a $90.00 Moisin Nagant 1891/30) to anyone wanting to try a pistol scope. For the money you can't go wrong!

You get what you pay for. You might get lucky and draw a winner. BUT, this is NOT a pistol scope, as another user has said. It is what he refered to as a scout scope. Its function is in between a pistol and rifle scope. There isn't enough eye relief to use as a pistol. If I had to use it on a pistol, it would be only a 22 lr.

I want to give NcStar a fair shake. I mounted one of these on my Taurus Tracker 17HMR. The view is very clear, the zoom is stiff but works fine. It zeroed quickly and is holding zero. If this changes I will repost. 2x is great for up to 25yds, 4x for 50yds and beyond in my opinion. You lose eye relief with magnification. This scope has plenty of relief though. At 7x you would be holding the handgun approx 12" away. The scope rings leave a bit to be desired but they are holding fine. Its not a bad entry level scope but it looks funny on the Tracker because of its size. It would look more at home on my Raging Hornet with the 10" barrel. Function is 100%.

Fine piece. When mounted with a modified Weaver high mount this long relief scope on a Mosin Nagant is a real winner. Crystal clear, plenty of adjustment range and on target. Perfect.

I am updating a previous review. I had this on my Marlin 45-70. The eye relief was too short to use on a handgun. Garbage showed up in the recticle. This scope has very poor low light gathering ability. I lost the ability to hold a zero, then the knobs used to adjust the zero froze. I would not recommend wasting your money on this one.

Just can't agree with some of the other reviewers about this scope. I have several other brand scopes that are just a little more money, but a LOT better sight picture, clarity and focus.Not, in my opinion, a good value.

Mounted this on my .22lr ...

Mounted this on my .22lr Browning Buckmark and after 4 range sessions one of the lenses inside came loose and the scope is now worthless. Before that, random dirt and sediment would somehow get on the inside of the lenses. Maybe I got a lemon but I am very unhappy with this scope.
