Use this bullet in my .264 Win Mag on elk with RL25 powder, very accurate and the terminal performance even at extended ranges was outstanding.

This is a great bullet from my 6.5 Mauser and 6.5-06. they are accurate and expand and penetrate. But in my smaller 6.5 Grendel they expand less then the 120gr Remington sp and 129gr Hornady spire points.

One year later, more praise for the performance of the Scir II in my daughter's Ruger Compact 260 Rem. I settled on Varget, chronys at 2550fps (16.5" bbl), can cover my 3-shot groups with a nickel every time. POI has not changed over wide temperature range (15deg to 75deg) or a year's worth of targets and hunting. Tally is now 4 deer (112yd, 167yd, 198yd, 247yd) and 2 antelope (212yd and 252yd). All 1-shot kills, clean & quick. No bullets recovered, all fully penetrated with great expansion (especially for low impact velocity), wide wound channels and quarter-size to golf-ball size exit holes. Farthest any animal traveled was 15 yds after shot. 2 animals shot quartering away, 1 animal shot through both shoulders, 3 animals shot broadside through ribcage. All great terminal performance, 1-shot kills with collapse in 15 yds or less! Who would have thought this kind of terminal performance possible from such a modest muzzle velocity...

Hand-loaded this for my daughter's Ruger Compact in 260 Remington. The short 16.5" barrel loses a lot in velocity, but I was able to get to 2600fps chronographed using either Varget or H4350, and hold 1" groups with either powder. A very easy-shooting round, my daughter practiced a bunch, and on "game day" dropped her mule deer at 198 lasered yards with one shot. Broadside, through the front shoulder, out behind the off shoulder, full penetration, deer took 1 step and folded. It was a beautiful sight and one very proud daughter. I used her gun a couple days later to take another mule deer at 247 yards, again a single shot, perfect heart/lung broadside shot, deer went about 15 yards and tumbled. Similar terminal performance on both shots, with an estimated ~2200fps impact velocity these bullets still opened very well, leaving wide wound channels, golf-ball sized exit holes, and minimal meat damage.

I use these in my 264, Win Mag. I shot a 1.0625" 5-shot group @100 yds. Terminal performance was excellent on my whitetail buck this year. I highly recommend this bullet.

I have used this bullet chambered in 264 Win Mag on hog and deer hunts without loss of game. All fell with one shot. Penetration was on par with the partition bullets. I have read about accuracy problems after only a few shots due to copper fowling. I have not experienced this problem even after forty shots with a hot load. IMR 7828 provides consistent half inch groups with a measured velocity of 3080 fps ten feet from muzzle with a 26" barrel.
