Product Information

Hybred EXP shotgun ammunition is designed for maximum expansion on game. The soft lead slug and attached sabot travel to the target together, the sabot providing stability for the projectile and enhancing accuracy. Upon impact, the slug expands dramatically and with devastating effect. Designed specifically for rifled barrels.

Used the 20 ga. Lightfield Hybred EXP Sabot Slug with results exactly as advertised. Accuracy is great out of Mossy pump, fully rifled and scoped. 4 inch groups at 100 yds. Took an 8 point buck at 75 yds. last November in Michigan U.P. Hit where I aimed - went through both lungs breaking through ribs on both sides and he ran 40 yds. then dropped. Retrieved slug from under skin on opposite shoulder. It mushroomed beautifully. Will now use nothing else.

These do shoot accurately ...

These do shoot accurately out of a NEF Ultra Slug Gun with light recoil, however they do not expand at all even after hitting bones. I was surprised to see this after recovering a slug out of my deer that was shot during Ohio's extended gun weekend.

shoot them out of my fully rifled H and R ultra slug hunter with great results. 1.5 inch groups at 50 yards shooting off of a bag. they blow threw both sides of a steel drum. try them.

Bought these after trying Hastings & Rem Buckhammers in a H&R Ultra 20ga. Trying to stay away from the lighter/faster loads due to poor reviews on terminal performance. 3-shot group @ 50yds were all touching. 85yd group opened up to ~4". Single shot @100yds was within 2" of center. Overall, group size was <1/2 that of the Buckhammers. Couldn't keep Hastings on paper. Deer-accurate enough for southern New England.

I bought these for my son to use on his youth hunt. The accuracy of them tops any other brand. For him to be able to put consistantly tight groups out to 75yds was a huge boost for his confidence to make the shot. At about 35yds a double lung left a hole big enough to see from our location. Also the buck moved about 20 feet and dropped. Shot through the H/R 3.5". Great slug! Has me shooting the IDS Plus 12ga now.

Used in 20 ga. Remington 870. Accurate as advertised, once sighted in, I had one large ragged whole about 1.5" at 25 yds. using iron sights. At 50 yds., it seems to shoot flatter than a 12 ga. Nov of 2007 I took a buck and a very large doe with this slug. The doe was an eighty-two yard shot that hit the spin in the shoulder area as I had aimed high expecting the slug to drop because of the long distance. However it hit exactly where I aimed. I took a shell apart; the sabot sleeve is 2 pieces that has tabs which lock onto the slug. This ensures the slug does not slip in the sabot as it goes down the barrel. The slug weighed 330 grains. Check out Lightfieldslugs.com as it explains why it was developed and why it is so accurate. Im sold and know two others that wont use anything else in their 12 ga.
