Product Information

The Leupold Zero Point Boresighter has a unique lens aperture system that eliminates point of aim errors from parallax due to extreme misalignment and allows you to get your riflescope on target fast. Precise collimation of the prismatic optical system provides accurate measurement of where your riflescope is aimed, regardless of where the boresighter is placed on the muzzle. The powerful neodymium magnetic attachment works for nearly all firearms and all calibers without the need for separate arbors. The Leupold boresighter also includes natural backlighting of the target, LED illumination for use in low light settings and an inch scale for measuring approximate riflescope height and target group sizes. The Leupold Zero Point Boresighter has an energy efficient design which yields approximately 25 hours of battery life. Includes range cards for recording sight-in information.

FIST IMPRESSIONS - I've yet to use this item to mount a new scope, but I have spent some time experimenting with it. This item is unique in that it could be used in the dark ( It's illuminated by a small LED ). I did attach it to several of my scoped guns and made note of the readings. I tried remounting this unit several times on each gun, and always came up with the same reading, each time, for each individual gun ( within an inch @ 100 yards, based on the grid ). This should mean that once your gun is zeroed, you would only have attach this unit to check and see if your gun is still on, even inside your blind. The unit is very small, about the size of 2 cigarettes layed side by side, it would be very easy to carry it with you on that big hunt. Based on the readings I got from my guns, mounting a new scope, with this boresighter, should easily get you on the paper @ 50 or 100 yds. So far I'm very impressed with this boresighter. If it turns out to be as good as it appears, it could eliminate every thing else out there.

I tried it on 8 rifle's and only 2 were an a 8" circle @ 100 yards. One muzzleloader was 15" low. Once you know where the cross hairs are on the grid, when the gun is sighted in, if you ever switch scope's, you can just bring the crosshairs of the new scope to that spot on the grid and you will be pretty close. I plan on selling this and getting either a laser or a regular boresighter. good hunting

It's amazing! Every rifle I have sighted with it has been in the black at 50 yards first shot. The instructions are poorly written, and that's only an issue because somebody had an epiphany regarding what sighting a rifle actually requires, and the rest of us haven't caught up.One day this will be common knowledge, because we will all do it this way.BTW: If your muzzle's face isn't perpendicular to the axis of your bore, then your muzzle isn't properly crowned, and you should get it fixed. You can use this on iron sights. I had to take off my glasses, as the image is already reflected, to see the reticle.

This will get you on ...

This will get you on paper, definitely at 25 yards -50 yards, probably at 100 yards. Windage will probably be very close. Elevation depends a lot on scope height it seems, so hard to say there. Nice feature is that once zeroed, you can check your zero without firing a shot. Fun and easy to use. Saves ammo. You still need to zero in at the range, and I challenge anyone to do it in one shot, but this will help you get the job done much more quickly and with less frustration.

I LIKE this unit! I shoot match bbl's & hate sticking spuds in those hand lapped bbl's. I can perfectly align my cross hairs @ home using the back light feature. Simply meas. the distance from your actions gas port to the center of the scope diameter & set the marks on the bore sighter accordingly. You can then see the target the crosshairs & grid easily @ the range. One negative: The aluminum base that makes contact w/muzzle will scratch and abrade the crown when centering the bore sighter to your scope. I applied a piece of Mylar packing tape to the aluminum then Exactoed to fit. Now the bore sighter moves much more smoothly & doesn't scratch my crown. Why didn't Leupold think of that?

I have a gunsmith business and use this as well as laser boresighters. I would like to see a set spuds with ears to center the tool with the bore. I'm real picky about things being level and square and when you rotate the tool on the muzzle to level it, it gets off center and requires recentering which in turn gets it off in another plane. A simple spud would solve this by maintaing center with the bore and if long enought, would make it usable with AR flash hiders as well. I'm also an LE designated marksman and this is the only boresighter that I keep in my dragbag, just in case.

Excellent tool! It does take some thinking to understand the directions and the concept but once you do, it's flawless! Much better than any laser. I would recommend this to the serious shooter. Save money and time on the range. Just center it in the scope and line up the reticle on the grid, couple of shots later you're at zero!

Yes, it works! And it is fun to use. No more fiddling with lasers etc. Tried it on two scopes, both were easily on paper at 100 yards. Also used it to sight a 1x prismatic scope off a 20" barrel, could clearly see the grid and center circle (tip: use in a darkened room). So buy one, already!

Bought this a few months ago and finally was able to use it on 2 new Savage rifles. At first I was hesitant as I thought it was more complicated than it was (I'm a rookie at this). When I realized that you just attach it to the muzzle and dial in the scope to the grid shown on the boresighter and you're done. Went to the range and both rifles were on paper at 75 yards...which is what it is for. Good product.

This is the coolest product ever! It has a scale inside a tiny window that is illuminated in an amber light when turned on. When you look at it with the naked eye you can barely see the scale but even then it is very well defined. So you would think, and I believe some other reviewers commented, that it would not work on a red dot. That is false! It does work very well with a red dot 1x power. I do not get how Leupold did it but you can clearly see the scale through the red dot. And of course it works great with any scope that is magnified. One side benefit is this device will tell you how far off of center your scope is. In other words it shows you how well centered your scope is mounted. While looking through the scope at the scale you can move your windage and elevation knobs throughout their entire range. Ideally you want to end up the same number of clicks from center left to center right and same for above and below center. This device is very helpful in that regards. I even had a rifle that this zero point sight showed would not zero with scope I was going to try. In other words it was showing me that I could not reach center, I was at the end of the windage adjustment and was still not in the center of the grid. I was not certain so I took it to the range and it was exactly right. It is easy to use and quick. I have used other bore sighters and this one really stands out as the king. Worth every penny of the price and then some.

Generally a good boresighter for different barrel types with or without flash suppressors and all scopes except an Aimpoint type sight. On my M1A Socom 16, I mounted a Trijjicon Tri-Power on the scout rail. Because there is no magnification in the scope, you can't peer inside the Zero Point Boresighter's little window, and therefore can't see the target grid inside the aperture. It's very difficult with the naked eye. I'll keep it for other scopes however.
