I have used Maxfire ...

I have used Maxfire speedloaders extensively for approximately 1 yr now. These speedloaders work very well. No moving parts so they resist breaking. To use them well, you do have to practice quite a few times to get the motion positive and smooth. A spray of silicone lubricant will help with the release of the cartridges and will help keep them from drying out. The staggered positions of the cartridges in the speedloader does help guide the cartridges into the chambers. However, I have never had the cylinder swing up into the revolver window as a springback from the push-away motion. Dirt and dust is easily washed away with a stream of water; a little soap on a toothbrush makes for thorough cleaning. I rated these 4 stars because I feel that the Safariland speedloaders are just a little faster. The push release of the Safariland speedloaders keep your loading hand closer to the revolver to return the cylinder to the window. [I use Maxfires for my 7 shot S&W, Safarilands for my 6 shot S&W. Safariland does not make, as of date, speedloaders for my 7 shot.]
