Speer cold-formed lead bullets have been a great bargain ever since Vernon Speer introduced them over 40 years ago. All Speer lead bullets now feature a hi-tech, multi-layer lube system. This great lube stays with the bullet instead of burning off. It won't melt off in storage or transport, and is clean and dry to the touch. Lead Round Nose Bullets are suited for a wide range of shooting applications and are a perfectly suited for use in revolvers. Primary function is target shooting. This is not loaded ammunition.

I bought the bullets ...

I bought the bullets along with others to reload as cheap plinkers and animal control work. I am teaching my two grandsons to shoot and load down some .38 specials for low recoil and use the lead bullets. I reverse the bullets in the case and load a mid range cartridge for paper punching. This makes the bullethole easier to see in the cardboard silhouette that we use. It is an economical bullet for me to use, along with other cast bullets form Midway. It is cheaper for me, because of other jobs, to buy precast or swaged bullets. I would rather spend time shooting and in the woods than in my shop casting bullets. Reloading is not that bad because I get my 12 year old to help me. I use an old Lyman single stage or Lyman Spartee turret press for .38, 9mm and ,45 ACP and .45 long colt. I call it banging ammo.The quality of the bullets bought is actually better than the ones I cast. And the danger of the hot lead and such is not there.

These are the first ...

These are the first bullets I bought when I started reloading. I am shooting .38 Special target/light loads to start out. The rounds seem easy to load and relatively accurate from a 6" Taurus. However they also lead the bore significantly more than other cast ammo I have shot. Good value for the price but get ready to clean the barrel each time you shoot.
