Very basic reloading DVD

Definitely not an "advanced" handloading tutor. This DVD is well positioned for the beginning reloader...learning the terminology, how to set up/adjust/use your reloading equipment and, in fact, how to turn out good hunting-quality ammo. And several of the reloading tips offered throughout the DVD are quite useful.

I'd say the DVD is an amalgamation of what the diligent reader could glean from reading several internet reloading forums. And that by itself (pulling everything together) makes it worth the rather modest price.

Unfortunately, the title leads one to believe the DVD delves into the more esoteric realm of advanced (benchrest) reloading and that's just not the case. I suppose the short 45 minute length should be an adequate clue that this is a "basic" reloading video.

So if you decide to purchase this DVD, you've been forewarned...very good intro-level reloading DVD. But don't expect much more. For that, you need the Sierra/Dave Tubb advanced reloading DVD. But it's somewhat hard to follow, not searchable, and way outdated. There's just not a truly advanced reloading DVD on the market which I'd recommend over all others. Wish one of the benchrest notables who's demonstrated a high comfort level speaking in front of an audience/camera would put out a truly quality product...current info, organized by sections/topics so it's searchable. Oh, and accompanied by great camera work and good audio.

This would be great for someone starting out but I didn't think it was "advanced" as the title implies. It was basic reloading info.

If this DVD was free, I ...

If this DVD was free, I might not be so critical. It is very short, does not go into much detail for a particular shooter's equipment (i.e. if you are loading for a bolt or autoloader, which is very important), and is just really not that advanced. There are a few good tips, and I did learn a thing or two, but I can't recommend it for the price. It is more of a sponsored tech tips vid that you might see on a TV commercial than a true handloading aid.
