Kit is designed to provide a crisp, clean 2-1/4 lb trigger pull. Includes target hammer, target sear, wide target trigger with overtravel adjustment screw, return trigger plunger spring, hammer bushing, extended bolt release and polished plunger. Drop-in, no stoning required. Trigger components are steel construction.

Technical Information

NOTE:

The only difference in finish between "Black" and "Silver" kits is the finish of the Extended Bolt Release. The trigger in all kits has a Black finish.

The extended bolt release included in this kit will NOT work with the 22/45. It is compatible with standard Mark 2 frames only. All other components will work with the 22/45 frame.

This product is "The Best." My shooting buddy and I put the accurizing kit into my MKII without much difficulty. It helped to have three hands, as the spring placement was easier that way. It also helps to have a good exploded view of the pistol handy. We both feel the results are extraordinary. The weight of the trigger pull, now, is marvelous. The best is that over-travel can be adjusted out. The hardest part of the installation was putting the MKII mainspring housing back into the pistol.

Trigger pull on my wife's Mark II Target is now 2 to 2-1/4 lbs. There is some creep that I have not been able to get rid of. There were no instructions on how to make adjustments and the literature said that there were supposed to be a new Mainspring and Housing latch Pivot Pin in the kit. There were not. Instead there was a new Extended Slide Release. If this is a change, the literature should reflect this. For the price, this kit should include hammer shims.

I recently bought a 22/45 Lite. I really like the gun, but the trigger had creep and was too heavy for my liking, about 4 1/2 lbs. I believe the trigger pull should not significantly out weigh the gun. I bought this kit and a Mark II hammer bushing to get rid of the magazine interlock and reduce the trigger pull. Score 100% on both items.

The kit took some wrangling to get installed. I have another 22/45, so was able to see the relationship between the springs and the trigger parts. That really helped. I had everything installed in less than an hour. The result, a 2 1/2 lb trigger pull with not creep. The mag disconnect is gone, so the magazines fly out when the mag release is pressed. An added benefit is it is really easy to disassemble and reassemble the gun. There is no longer any "mag in, mag out, mag in, mag out" when I field strip it for cleaning.

If you are not handy, take the kit and your gun to a gunsmith, but get this kit if you want a slick shooting pistol.

I bought this kit for my MKIII 22/45 to remove the magazine disconect feature and clean up the trigger pull.With higher velocity (1270 fps) rounds, the impact of the bolt going back would release the hammer. I had to put the Ruger sear back in. I don't know if buying the Mark II kit for my Mark III had anything to do with the sear problem, but the magazines drop free rather than having to pull them out and it still improved overall trigger performance. So it served it's purpose.

I ordered this along with the MKII hammer bushing to remove the magazine disconnect in my 22/45. This kit was backordered and arrived today and contains the MKII hammer bushing!!! It sucks that I ordered that piece seperately and already installed it weeks ago, but its great that Volquartsen aparently now includes it in the kit.

A good product, a little tricky to install, a real improvement over the stock Ruger parts in my MK II and I would say worth the money, at least for me. I've had this MK II for about 25 years and decided to upgrade it a little bit with a volquartsen kit and some Hogue target grips just for fun. An excellent combination, fun to shoot and reliable.

I'm a bullseye shooter and this turns my cheapo Ruger into a far more expensive target pistol. The Ruger's already more inherently accurate than it needs to be and this kit lets the shooter take advantage of it. I wouldn't take it to the Olympics but I'd have no qualms about taking it to Perry!

Instructions are very brief. I used a video by Youtube user TheROOKVoice to install it and it was easy as pie. The trigger feels a hundred times better than stock.

I just installed this on my Mk III 22/45 Hunter along with the Mk II hammer bushing and the VQ bolt tune up kit (extractor and firing pin). Yes, it's a bit of a puzzle to install it but not terribly hard and it gave me the opportunity to give the gun a good thorough cleaning. The result is amazing. The trigger is light and crisp and I set the pre- and post-travel right where I want them. The post-break screw does NOT extend above the face of the trigger and so did not require any grinding. The extractor throws brass with gusto. I have not had time to put a lot of rounds through it since the locktite is still drying but will do so this weekend. All in all, a superb upgrade.

Installed this kit in a MKIII 22/45 didn't time it but my wife said it took about an hour. If you install this in a MKIII you will need to purchase a MKII hammer bushing sold separately. Doing this will gain several things. You will have a 2 to 2.5 pound trigger with pre travel and over travel adjustments, and you will remove that pesky magazine disconnect safety. This will allow the magazines to drop free. One tip on the 22/45. You will use the factory sear spring, so if you will drift the sear pin to the left only enough to get the sear out and not the spring, then immediately install the new sear, you will not have any of the problems many people have with alignment.

I installed this kit on my 15 year old competition target. I was really looking forward to finally upgrading my trigger. If I would have the option of returning this kit I would do it in a blink of an eye...still a lot of travel and the difference in pull wasn't worth the price tag.
