I put this sight on my ...

I put this sight on my Marlin 336 because i wanted something easier to use and more accurate than the factory Buckhorns. the sight installed into the rear set of receiver holes, and looks very nice on the rifle. This sight is also faster to use than the buckhorn style, and looks nicer, too. The vertical adjustments are easy enough to make, and the witness mark on the sight makes adjustments easy to do. the windage adjustments are a nuisance to make and boils down to a good guess because there is nothing to line up the aperture ring w/ the moa increments on the sight. the other downer on this sight is that the aperture must be unscrewed every time you want to make a windage or elevation change. not a big deal by itself, but combined w/ the weird windage adjustments, initial sight-in can be an endurance test of sorts.The sight has proven reliable, and i am happy w/ it thus far (only around 100 shots thru it). the only downside was that this sight also required a front sight change to work w/ the 336. i went w/ a .410" (marbles)front, and now i can appreciate a peep's accuracy and speed.the supplied aperture works well for general hunting use, but is tough to pick up at first and last light. i wouldn't use a smaller aperture on a hunting rifle.

A nice idea, thought this would be just the thing for my 1894 Cowboy in .357. Well, after getting through the hassle of mounting it, I then discovered that it sat way too high for proper sight-in. After installing the highest front bead sight available, and shaving down some of this sight's base, I still could not bring point-of-impact down enough. Gave up and went back the original buckhorn....

It is a good sight. I put this on a Marlin model 375 (.375 winchester). You will need to change the front sight as stated in other reviews. I was shooting 9" high @ 100yds with the stock front sight. I went with a "Williams" .406" w 3/32" gold bead elsewhere on this site. The windage adjustment does not have hash marks, hence the 3 stars. I will do a follow up review after a couple hundred rounds. So far so good.

I mounted one on my Marlin 30A Had remove the adjustment piece under the Buck horn rear sight . sighted rifle in after only 3 shot's at range with a friend spotting for me. At a 110 yd's I was busting clays on every shot ! With factory ammo very nice did not have to replace front sight as others claimed . Not bad for " 60 yr old shooter'.

A very nice little sight! I really like it when a product exceeds my expectations. My 1895 looks like it was designed with this sight in mind.I have a 1894 Marlin with this sight on it. The base extends beyond the back of the receiver about 3/8" or so. While it looks a bit strange, it functions perfectly.This is a real bang for the buck.

I absolutely love this sight. Placed on the front set of receiver holes on my 450, front sight didn't need to be changed. 1st shot was 1" above bulls eye at 50yrds. Stayed there all day.

I put this sight on a Marlin 336, 35 Rem. I mounted it on the front set of receiver holes. I agree with other comments that this rear sight is too tall to use with the factory front sight. I installed a Truglo Marlin 336 fiber optic front sight and it aligns very nicely. The windage adjustment screw on this rear site is somewhat difficult to adjust but once set, it works nicely with the taller Truglo front sight. A big improvement over the factory iron sights.

I bought this sight to replace the rear buckhorn on my Marlin 336C. First of all, it came with absolutely no instructions whatsoever, not even a schematic. It took me over an hour to figure out how to mount it properly and one call to Williams Gun Sight tech support. When I got it to the range with every powder & bullet combo I tried in it (including two factory loads), it shot 6-7 inches high at 25 yards. So now I have to buy a higher front sight which I didn't realize until I read these reviews. That is why I am only giving it 3 stars.

This sight is OK. I mounted one on my Marlin 1894. I wasn't happy with setup. The peep must be mounted on the forward set of threads. The mount is too long on rear set.

I was unhappy with the set including firesights. I guess I assumed the front sight would work with my gun (.338 MXLR). Even at its lowest setting the gun still shoots 5" high at 100 yds. Now I must buy another sight but have no idea which.
