The Vortex SPARC Red Dot Sight is ideal for use on any tactical firearm. This extremely versatile sight has been tested with a .375 H&H Magnum so you can be sure that it will stand up to the recoil of any rifle, shotgun or handgun that you put it on. I purchased this sight a couple of months ago for my Beretta CX4 Storm .40 cal. Out of the box I was very impressed with the overall quality of the sight, controls and mounts. It has now been on my gun for well over a thousand rounds and I have zero issues, it has a nice clean dot, and co-witnesses my irons very well with the medium mount. The 2x magnifier works well but not really useful for my application. I have a couple of Aimpoint sights and I have to say so far the SPARC compares favorably.

Decent red dot for the money. Dot is clearly visible, but looks overblown in dimly lit rooms, even on lowest setting. Torture tests I've seen online have shown it to be a very durable optic.Unfortunately, there are some down sides. Glass has a slight green tint to it and everything appears somewhat dim. Also has a slight "demagnification" effect, making everything look maybe 5-10% smaller. The included magnifier really limits field of view, but it's nice to have when zeroing the SPARC at 50-75 yards. All in all, considering the price, all of the above issues with this scope are forgivable. However, there is one problem that is not...Because of where the power button is situated, it tends to turn the red dot on when it gets bumped in my soft-sided carrying case...ultimately resulting in a dead battery when I take my rifle out. This has happened twice, regardless of how careful I am. Coupled with the fact that there is no auto-off feature to keep the battery from going dead, this is a deal-breaker for me. If you use a hard case, maybe this won't be an issue, but I prefer a soft case. Needless to say, I will be selling the SPARC at a loss and looking for a new optic for my carbine.

As with anything, a person's perceptions can change from day to day about a product. Initially I was very excited to have this product, and it seemed like it was made for my rifle. As I used it awhile, the dot flaring at anything over lowest setting has caused me to revise my initial impressions, and downgrade it a notch.

The Vortex Sparc is a small red dot sight which has a number of really nice features to assist the shooter. I really enjoy the rubber coated "pod" on the side of the optic with the on/off and variable intensity controls. There is a night vision dedicated button too, if that sort of thing is important to you.

I think the mounting bases and spacer included in the box are swell. I was able to get what some call a co-witness with the short base, shim, and optic for my SIG 556 so that the dot appears over the front sight. I really couldn't be more pleased about that.

The dot flares badly at anything above the lowest setting. This is why I gave it a lower rating than excellent. In fairness to the sight, I have read elsewhere that it does not present an issue when being used by people without vision problems. I cannot verify that report, I can only tell you that for me, the dot flares badly.

I still find the product useful for my application. I find that on the lowest setting on a bright day, in this application, the dot resting atop the front sight post is helpful for sight placement on a target at ranges up to perhaps 150 yards or so, after which the dot starts to obscure the target a bit.

Nice optic. crisp dot and very durable. the power and intensity buttons are very nice. the only problems I have with it is that it needs a lower intensity setting for indoors (its not overwhelmingly bright, but could definitely be dimmer at the lowest setting) and there is a slight blue tint when looking through it. this of course is not noticed as much when shooting with both eyes open like you're supposed to. Shooting with both eyes open also remedies the small/obstructed field of view that some of the reviewers were talking about. If you want a good red dot for $200, this is the one.

On / off switch stopped ...

On / off switch stopped working after less than a year of use ( approx. 3000 rounds). Now it wont turn off, and I have to take batteries out after use. Holds zero mounted on AR 15 (5.56). I can hit 6 " plates at 100 yards with no magnifier while shooting standing. So I guess it's OK for the price. Except for the on/off switch not working properly, it' still functions for its intended use.

Great red dot sight for 200 bucks. quick NV switch, 2 MOA red dot for better view at middle range engagement.But the problem is the side is cover w/ rubber, that rubber cover won't last under tactical movements since cordura gear won't treat it nicely.

A great sight for the ...

A great sight for the money. Don't really need option for use with night vision but it's included. Like the mounting options included and co-witness with my BUIS sights perfectly. The dot is bright outdoors and dim enough for indoor lighting, my only complaint is the battery, life is not great and it is an uncommon type that is not readily available in my area, had to go online to find and order and they are not cheap.

The fit and finish of this red dot is excellent. Mounting hardware for all possible heights is included. The Sparc is a solidly made red dot with a very bright dot. There is a night vision setting that will reduce the dot to a dim level instantly. This is one of those items that is priced so low for it's quality, you wonder how they make money on it. However, it is made in China.

I bought this sight right when it first came available. I bought it based on price the 2x magnifier and it came with multi height mount. The construction is solid, the buttons are easy to use and feel positive. The magnifier is ok, the sight picture is small but does aid in sighting in at 100 yards. The dot is nice but does flare if using a brighter setting than needed for the invroment. I will sometimes use a brighter setting to make the dot easier to aquire for speedier target acquisition at clsoe range. I have used this sight for about a thousand rounds and the sight has stayed zeroed with no problems.

I didn't like this red dot because it does not have a circular view looking through it. One side has a piece mounted on it that hinders my view and does not give a nice clear circular view through the optic. It is also made in China...stick with an Aimpoint or EOTech.

The SPARC is a great little optic. It has a bright dot, compact size, mounts included with options to facilitate any likely use, quality and performance, value pricing,...etc. I've used the SPARC on the gas tube of my AK, and 308 AR. Every aspect has been 100% desirable. Last week at the range 2 out of 3 people who saw it were writing down the details so they could get one. For those like myself who are looking for a good quality optic, but can't rationalize the cost of an Aimpoint Micro, this is a great option. This is the first Vortex product I've bought, but I'm quickly becoming a big fan.
