The Caldwell Rock Jr. Rifle Front Shooting Rest is packed with many of the features of a premium rest, in a smaller, lightweight package. The stable cast iron base features interchangeable feet, non-slip rubber or steel spikes, to allow shooting from almost any surface. Includes a Caldwell Medium Front Bag and works with all universal front bags enabling you to choose a configuration to match your rifle. The "Y" base pattern adds stability. Perfect for sighting-in, test firing and informal competition.

The Caldwell The Rock Jr. Shooting Rest is a very good value. It is solidly built and versatile. Its small size makes it highly portable. I have found it to be especially useful for target rimfire rifles and sighting in handguns. The rest is made of metal with a set of rubber feet and an interchangeable set of metal pointed feet. The cradle comes with a medium Caldwell front bag but appears to accept any of the Caldwell front bags. When set up properly it is about as stable and reliable as a small rest can be. This would be a very good buy for the occasional shooter who doesn't want to invest in one of the larger, heavy duty rests.

It's compact, well made, isn't rock solid like the more expensive full sized models. It works fine for sighting in, informal shooting, etc. I'm satisfied with it.

After reading the other reviews, I purchased this along with the Caldwell Universal Deluxe Rear rest bag. Used with my Enfields & Mosin Nagants, this is as good a combination as I had hoped for! Only had it for a week but can't stop using it! As others have stated, "solid as a rock!" thanks Midway and to all the other reviewers of this product.

I am satisfied with the rest itself. The bag itself is junk. Stitching gave way, and has lost all its filling. Now I'm in search of a bag I can trust or make my own.

First of all, I don't think I have ever bought anything which is such good value. Apart from the value for money there really isn't any compromise, this is a good rest plain and simple. Perfect for rimfire rifles, very solid and well built. I still can't find a reason to buy more expensive rests, I do a lot of shooting from light rimfires to heavy long range rifles and still this rest is all I need. It just works.

Works very well. With a bag in rear and rock jr in front, this is a great combination for bench shooting--moreaccurate than the lead sled if recoil is not too much.The only problem is that my rock jr rest bag fell apart atthe front seam, opening up and spilling the filler. I presume the front riffle stock swivel rubbed on this spot repeatedly and caused the opening. Manufacturer should build a sturdier seam

This item is inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. The chief problem is the little padded platform on which the rifle front end (forearm or muzzle) will rest. This platform is quite shaky because of poor design, making this Caldwell Rock Jr. rest almost worthless. You are better off with a sandbag type rest or even a homemade sandbag. Spend a few bucks more and get a solid rest. If you buy this one, you will soon realize that it is of little use as a bench rest and you have wasted your money.
