This oversized competition grip from Volquartsen features a thumbrest, heelrest and finger grooves which allows for complete control for one or two-handed shooting. Comfortable, durable urethane construction provides ergonomic support and reduces felt recoil. The MKIII Volthane Grips come standard with an Extended Magazine Release Button that is designed to be installed from the inside of the grip panel and is then held in place once the grip is tightened to the frame. Please note that this Custom Grip fits the Ruger Mark 3 only.

I put the grips on my Ruger Mark III and they are great. When I originally saw them, I thought "wow they are really big", but they provide an extremely positive grip and really steady the gun. If you have small hands they may not fit you but the average person should love them.

Just received and mounted these grips to my Mark III. Just as in several other reviews posted here, the fit was unacceptable with a large gap at bottom heel where the two grips meet together. Perhaps some super glue might fix the problem if I intended to use these target grips 100% of time. Unfortunately, I intend on changing grips to fit the type of shooting. I was told by Nic, one of the techs at Volquartsen, that they had fixed the issue of warping and fit caused by some early poor molds, but evidently the older inventory of substandard grips has yet to be cleared out of Midway's warehouse. I would have been satisfied had the fit met my expectations of a $60 pair of target grips. As expected, Midway will provide refund. May reorder once I am guaranteed the grips I receive are worthy of the price.

I purchased these grips ...

I purchased these grips for my Ruger Mark III Target/Hunter 22LR. Like what the others say, the grips are quite large, but feel very stable in your hand to balance the Mark III which is a heavy 22 with bull barrel. The fit of the grips on the bottom DO NOT come together. There are gaps on both ends. The MAGAZINE problem (not ejecting or self ejecting) was solved by me using the ORIGINAL grip screws, not the ones that come with these grips, which are TOO LONG and hit the magazine!! You think when you are buying "Volquartsen Products" you would NOT have to be dealing with LOWER PRICED PRODUCTS problems!! Think again when it comes to these grips!!

I have upgraded my initial review to 4 stars. After exhausting my fixes, I contacted Volquartsen who were very responsive. VQ sent me a new magazine release button gratis and offered trouble shooting advice. VQ even offered to analyze the geometry of my Ruger grip frame gratis. After several ideas and exchanges with VQ, the problem appears to have been resolved. I plan to continue to purchase VQ parts.

Having installed other ...

Having installed other Volquartsen parts, I bought the Volquartsen grip to use on a bull's-eye target pistol. I have used the standard Ruger grips and the Hogue grip for comparison. The larger Vq grip does fill my hand better than the others. However, the Vq grip causes inadvertent magazine ejection. I even replaced the magazine latch thinking that the cause. It is very inconvenient to have your magazine involuntarily ejected whilst concentrating on the rapid fire strings.

People, read the ...

People, read the description before buying these grips or do research. You have to understand that this are oversized "competition" grip and they serve their purpose 100% for complete control, one or two-handed shooting. They aren't practical for plinking or hunting specially if you're a women or a guy with small hands so don't post 3 or 4 stars feedback only because they don't fit your purpose or that they are so large that they come with a removable post to release the magazine. READ the description before you order them to make sure it's what you need.

Let me start by saying these grips are awesome. So you might be asking yourself. Then whats up with only four stars? Well ill tell you. Practicallity. They just arent practical for everyday use. Sure they look good. Tighten up your grouping and fit amazingly into your hand but they are BULKY. That being said if youll be using them on a target shooting competition gun ONLY then these babies will fit the ticket. But if its a plinker or just an EDC gun...im gonna say go with something more slimline like a set of pachmyrs.

This grips are not drop ...

This grips are not drop in and are difficult to install with the extended mag release. I went through 2 pair of MKII as they were a snap to install. Unless you are familiar with a MK3, have a gunsmith install these. I had to return mine to the factory as there was no gunsmith who wanted to reassemble my pistol. These are excellent grips except for the installation.

Grips are nice but when ...

Grips are nice but when replacing the bolt lock lever you have to be careful removing the pin that is used to attach it. Parts inside will shift making it difficult to reinstall.

The grips are easily ...

The grips are easily installed and have a better feel than the factory grips. My only complaint was the fit at the bottom. The two I have don't sit perfect. A minor issue to me, but the only.
