Replaced the 2 piece, ...

Replaced the 2 piece, full length guide rod in Springfield Loaded with this item. Did this because the original part (a) requires an Allen wrench for disassembly, and (b) the threaded pieces begin to unscrew after shooting for a while. The only issue was that the new Recoil Spring Plug didn't seem to allow the barrel bushing to be rotated into its proper position (slightly too long?). When I substituted the original Recoil Spring Plug, reassembly was flawless.

For about $30 this really cleaned up my Series 80 Gold Cup and is more attractive then the blued 2 piece rod and cap it replaced. Out of the box and into my Colt Gold Cup in less then 5 minutes. Love Wilson stuff.

Replaced my pt1911 blued full length guide rod for this. Guide rod is wonderful! Looks the part and if you have other s/s parts really brings the gun to a new look. Looks REALLY good on blued guns and since the barrel is already s/s looks like it belongs there. Zero fitting at all, same specs as others, not too long and not too short. Perfect. I test fitting the guide rod plug and though length wise is a little bit shorter than my stock one, functions perfectly fine with the stock barrel bushing. I replaced the barrel bushing with the EGW match on midways site (highly recommend) and used a different guide rod plug, so no issues at all with fitment or compatibility via mix matched parts. Overall a very sound part that should last a very long time!

Love this Recoil Rod. It works perfectly in my Springfield, and do not need an Allen wrench to remove it. I was always worried, that I would lose that little tool tearing a hole in my pocket.

Put it on my springer loaded target, and it was a quick and easy 5 minute install. It feels much better when cycling and adds a bit of extra durability to the front end.

It works great, a tighter grouping in my Rock Island 1911. I switched it to my Taurus PT 1911 to see if I can get tighter groups with it and to keep me from shooting to the right. If it works I will be buying another one for the Taurus.

These fit great in my Springfield Loaded. The one piece is the way to go if you are not using the GI. No tool needed to break down the pistol. It actually looks like what came in my Kimber Custom II stock.
