Adding a Multi-Comp compensator to your 1911 is as fast and easy as changing out the barrel bushing. Features a built-in barrel bushing, three chambers and seven exhaust ports for maximum recoil suppression. Can be used with your stock barrel. Works on all Government length (5") barrels with .576 to .580 muzzle O.D. in calibers up to and including 45 ACP. May require fitting of Wilson's Two-Piece Guide Rod (sold separately as 136-387) or having your stock recoil spring plug shortened to 1.2". Minor fitting required.

I replaced a match bushing on a match barrel with this comp. The match barrel OD is .583, and the comp fit perfectly. No slop whatsoever. In fact, it fits better than the match bushing that came with the match barrel. The comp fit quite snuggly, as desired, in the Taurus PT-1911 that I am "remodeling." Additionally, the comp actually works very well to reduce muzzle flip with 185 gr and 230 grain hand-loads. As to accuracy, from the bench at 20 yds, the rounds repeatedly go where I point them. Can't ask for much more than that! This is a good piece of gear. I typically don't use comps on my other 1911s, but decided to give this a try on the new Taurus, as I was using it for a "project gun" anyway. I am delighted with the results. I'm surprised that it fit so well without having to machine off any excess from the comp. It actually fit perfectly on this particular barrel and in this Taurus slide.

Nicely built part and it looks good on my Stainless S&W 1911. Took allot of fitting as it was near .008 over sized as compared to my slide. Not hard but timely. Once in, it fits the slide and barrel perfectly. No slop. However, I realized why they recommend the use of the two piece guide rod. The recoil spring plug will not slide past the comp so the new ( or shortened one) has to go in from behind.Haven't even shot it yet as I'm still wrestling with the 2 piece rod install. Hope it's worth all the install grief.

Installed this on my Sig 1911 with minimal work. I had to do a little sanding and then it fit perfectly. Function has been excellent and the recoil reduction is good. A great buy if you're looking to get on target faster with your 1911!

I will give this piece a perfect rating due to the fact it was exactly as described. It is not always a direct fit, notice, it says 'Gunsmithing:Yes', that does not mean, "Oh, I just have to disassemble it and put it back together!" WRONG!!! I attempted direct installation to my Rock Island Armory Tactical with no modification to the bushing. It didn't fit, figured it probably wouldn't, so took the comp down to the basement to do some grinding with the Dremel. After some trial and error now it is as snug as a bug in a rug. It is a bit tiring sometimes to try to put it back together with it AND a Wilson Combat 18.5lb spring but to gain the end result, well worth it. I have the Wilson Combat two piece guide rod, WC 18.5lb recoil spring, WC shock buffer and the WC bushing compensator, with these I have attained 9mm +P recoil out of a .45ACP, thanks Wilson Combat!

IMO, I wouldn't use this ...

IMO, I wouldn't use this on an expensive gun. I have a stainless steel gun and the comp. surfaced scratched the front of the slide, putting it on and taking it off. After firing 100 rounds I couldn't take it off. It was like the metal swelled. You only really see a difference in recoil when the gun is fired in a rapid succession.

Bought this for my Taurus PT-1911 along with the Wilson Combat 2 piece guide rod and absolutely love it. No problems on the installation. Recoil is remarkably lower along with muzzle rise. I would recommend this to any Taurus 1911 owners

If 'easy to install' means 'no work' to you, reconsider before you purchase this product. If you follow Wilson's instructions all will work out fine. Slide to comp fit was perfect after I turned the bushing o.d. to fit my Springfield Mil Spec. Another thing to consider is the fit between the barrel and bushing/comp i.d. This is NOT a one size fits all part! Some stock barrels are 'fatter' than others and this may require some resizing of the inside of the bushing. Remember "it doesn't have to be TIGHT, it just has to be right"

I put one of these on a Springfield 1911 A-1, install was a breeze. The cutting of the spring tube wasnt a major deal although the 1.2 measurement isnt something you have to get exactly right. As long as you cut a 1/4" off the bottom you will be ok. The only bad thing I have to say is that I was looking for style points and this comp. is goofy looking on the end(to small). if you are looking for a style I would suggest a comp that is pre made on a barrel.

Installation on my Springfield 1911A1 took about 10 min, that includes shortening my stock recoil spring plug to the recommended 1.2 inches. Looks pretty cool also, the lines almost match. I'm using reduced reloads at the range and this causes the spent casings not to eject as far as i would like, but no jams will just load a little heavier. I would say that this compensator reduces recoil by about 25%. Would definitely recommend this thing!!!!

Did not think it was possible to accurized a Kimber pistol without taking it to a custom shop. Had to shave a little off the outside of the barrel guide with an abrasive cloth intended for copper pipe, added the compensator, and took it to the 25 yard line. Was shooting 4"-5" groups offhand before but now shoots 3" groups....with bulk FMJ American tactical ammunition. Did not have to change ammunition type, for my Kimber Custom Target II I didn't need the 2-piece recoil spring guide as it recommends. The assembly instructions say to install the spring guide and spring from the rear...that's only if u have purchased the 2-piece. Since I used my stock spring guide...i installed it from the FRONT with some extra attention to not let the spring slip and go thru my window. Recoil is very noticeable. As before it was the expected KICK but when installed its more of a lower PUSH. My 13 y/o nephew enjoys the firepower without the recoil. Sight adjustments had to be made but of no concern if its shooting tighter groups now. In the end.....it not only looks awesome from cosmetics but performs as intended. Wilson Combat has done it again. 98% of their products perform flawlessly...the other 2% have not been installed at all. HAPPY SHOOTING.

Put compensator on my colt 1991A1 45 ACP. It fit like a glove with no custom fitting required have a Wilson combat recoil reduction system on this gun and compensator works fine through 250rds of hot and mild loads. Don't know if because my gun has a Wilson guiderod system to begin with if that is why I no problems fitting.
