This replacement magazine is a factory original from Smith & Wesson. Factory replacement parts are manufactured to the exact same specifications and tolerances and use the same manufacturing materials as the original parts which guarantees excellent fit and reliable operation.

Keeping a few extra factory magazines around is never a bad idea; extra magazines save loading time at the range and also serve as a backup for those days when you simply cannot remember where you put your primary magazine.

Note: This magazine is the same length as the 25 round magazine but pinned to only hold 10 rounds so as to maintain compliance in locals that will not allow traditional capacity magazines.

Not sure what the point is

Honestly, I ordered this product by mistake. It works fine and just as intended, but I don't like the extra size it is for only holding less the half the rounds of a standard magazine for this rifle. It would make more sense to just shorten the mag if you are going to only be able to put 10 rounds in it. As it is now, just buy the 25 round mag and short load it.

Bought several 10 rd mags-they feed smooth. Load assist button lacking, S&W says not needed. My fingers say IT IS! I put 3/4inch bolt & nut into existing hole, and drop of Krazy glue holds nut tight in each mag. Works fine now. I'm buying more.

Reviewing a S&W factory mag is a little irrelevant. I mean, like, what are my options? I own a S&W M&P15-22, and if I want extra mags for the range, there are not many options. These mags work well once they are loaded. Never had a single misfeed, ever. But, they are certainly no joy to load. For some reason S&W stopped manufacturing them with an assist button. The slot and hole are still there, but no button. My kids HATE reloading these mags. I pre-load 10 mags before heading to the range to make the time there more enjoyable for the kids. We also keep a 4 dowel in the range bag to use as a make-shift assist.

I just bought five of them to make up for the 10 limit round capacity(dang California).just wanted to add that I found them the cheapest here not much, about 5 bucks but hey it makes a difference when you buy a couple of them..I will definitely be ordering more from Midway further down the line..

If youre looking at ...

If youre looking at these, youre interested in extra magazines for your capacity limited(by law) 15-22. These are the same shape magazines as the 25 rounders except they're pinned to accept no more than 10 rounds and have a blue follower on top. They have no load assist button but from what I've read into, that could be a good thing. When you handload them like that, they're suppose to feed reliably with the rounds staggering. These polymer magazines have been dropped on cement in an indoor range and they're completely fine, very durable. Easy to disassemble when cleaning (the follower doesn't come out on these compliant versions). If loading these are hurting your fingers, try it this way: Hold the round perpendicular to the follower/round and use that leverage to press down and then slide it in. For me, it took me a while to get used to that as I had trouble balancing the rim of one on top of a loaded round but it's SOO much easier, my fingers don't feel terrible at all and I've gotten good with them that I can beat my more experienced cousin loading a magazine :) These magazines do a good job holding the bolt open reliably in my rifle, stays open every single time (1000 rounds in it already). Because these were meant to be 25 rounders, they're pretty difficult to go prone with or depending on the bench your using, hard to bench rest. If that's the case, look into the shorty 10 round magazines. These long ones look excellent to me, hopefully one day we can use NORMAL capacity magazines in this state someday =/

Bought these mags they function if you load them one at a time and they eat your fingers up there is no assist or tab to make loading easier you can put something in the hole in the follower to help but you would think they would have designed them better. Eh it's all they could think of I guess.

These are factory original 10 round magazines. These are not the short magazines! They look like the 25 round mags but only hold 10.
