This upper and lower handguard set is constructed of high-strength polymer, and offers a modern, weather resistant upgrade over typical AK-pattern wooden components. The lower handguard incorporates a stainless steel heatshield for user comfort during long shooting sessions. These Arsenal handguards are manufactured in the US and are 922R compliant.

NOTE: As dimensions often vary between AK-47/AK-74 rifles of different origin, minor fitting may be required.

It's a handful

After having tried the standard stock hand guard, quad rail, and a cheap polymer set I can say this is my favorite hand guard set. The fit is snug and clean on the lower hand guard with no fitting needed. It has a good grip surface and feels great when I am shooting. The heat shield is top notch and really helps reduce the felt heat during long shooting sessions. Now the upper hand guard is another story. Be prepared to do a little fitting. In my case it was nothing that a little one on one action with the Dremel couldn't fix. I just had to shave a bit of material off to make it fit snugly in place. Once I had that done it fit tight and looked great. Overall a good choice to go with the WASR 10/63

very little effert to install on my wasr10, looks and feels very good, heat shield works great after multiple rounds fired.

Arsenal/K-var handguard

Midway service was excellent, as always. Fast!
As for the Arsenal (K-var) handguards, they are excellent quality (there is none better). However, they are made for '74/100 series AK's. By (trying) to make them compatible with AKM's, K-var bends the front lip of the heatshield up to touch the barrel. Unfortunately, without the '74/100 series handguard retainer "ears" this let the handguard slop up and down under the tension of only the heatshield (on AKM's). For a '74, these are the BEST you can get. But for AKM's... sloppy fit.

First off I would like to say I ordered these guards yesterday morning and received them today at noon. The Nitro Express is fast! I fitted these Hand guards on my WASR-10 with some modification to the top guard with a dremel. It needed to be shaved out some to slide around the gas tube. All in all the fit and finish is great as with all Arsenal products. Thanks Midway

Ordered this handguard to replace the wooden handguard on my AK. Mated it up with a Tapco fixed stock and Original style pistol grip. Might I say what a great combo this is, the handguard has a very aggresive surface texture to assure a secure grip on the rifle, the polymer material used it very rugged, and the heat shield does a great job of keeping your hand cool while under extending shooting. I couldn't reccomend this item enough.

I love this hand guard, the fit is great on my Draco AK. The heat shield holds up to the test, even with bump-firing. The ergonomics are excellent, making the feel of the rifle "Just Right".

Bottom of receiver fit like a glove. The heat shield inside the hand guard makes a big difference, No more smoking wood! The challenge was replacing the original top wood with the new Arsenal. Rather than explaining it here, look up how to replace the upper fore end on You Tube. Once you see how, it's a lot easier. No fault of Arsenal, that's the AK design.

Great, quality handguard from Arsenal. I replaced the crappy plastic handguard that my Bulgarian AK-74 came with, and this has improved my rifle 100% in my opinion. It has a heat shield that works very well and the grip is very comfortable. I did have to do a little filing and a little bending, but once finished, the lower guard fit very snug. If you want to replace the handguard on your AK, I recommend this.
