This is an absoluete ...

This is an absoluete necessity for the enfield reloader/shooter. I would neck size and reload a case 14-18 times when i first started loading. inevitably the case head would separate, leaving the rest firmly stuck in the chamber. Since i put one of these in the buttstock I would simply pull this out, put it in the chamber, ram the bolt closed (sometimes a few light tap on the back of the bolt handle with a hammer would help it grop the case,) and yank the bolt open. Out comes the case, in goes a new round and your shooting day isnt ruined. I bought this after the first time I had case head separation quickly ruined a shooting day five rounds into my range session.

Great product. Can't see ...

Great product. Can't see why other reviews are so negative. Like all these tools, they need some adjustment to suit each chamber. I screw the length all the way out and it chambers easily but does not extract. Then repeat screwing in each time, until it is somewhat difficult to chamber, at which point the case just slides on out. I have had to use a vise to get the case off the extractor a couple of times because of the friction I had to put on to get the case out of the chamber. That's why I'm buying a couple more so I can keep 3 in my range bag and not be stuck without one (unless I get three awkward cases - maybe I should buy more!). Really, once you get to know how to use these, they are invaluable. Shame they don't include instructions for those unused to these devices, that may have helped the other reviewers.

Bought one recently (Jan ...

Bought one recently (Jan '09) to free a twice handloaded casing that split in an Enfield No4 Mk1. The tool worked fine. Start with the rim end slightly screwed in, try to close bolt, if you can't- screw the rim in some more & try again. Tip: Before using the extractor, clamp your rifle vertically (muzzle downward) and squirt penetrating oil between stuck case & chamber, let it sit a while. Then try the extractor.

It did not work for me, ...

It did not work for me, followed the instuctions, even called CJ weapons even though their customer sevice was very polite and helpful, still didn't work. It got 2 stars because their customer service was very polite and helpful.
