I have the Harris on my M14 and it works great. That being said, I bought this one for my 10/22 and it's almost exactly the same. What other reviewers have been saying about the differences is true, but on big guns. On my 10/22 it is the perfect budget bipod. On anything up to a .223 this thing is as steady as a rock, and functions perfectly, but if you have a .30-06 or a .300 Win. Mag. don't cheap out, realize that you're going to need the slightly better version.

I gave this product 1 extra star because it helps a little. the legs are made of a softer/more pliable material than those made by Harris, so when you extend the legs they flex really easily making everything very unstable. Not as much as long as you don't over-extend them. If you want to have a bipod to quickly deploy, you cant tie a string between the two legs because the screws that hold the legs onto the framework will bend ALOT, after 5-10 deploys. A Harris bipod just like this one works 10 times better, and not even for that much more.

I have a wide variety of weapons from 22 ,5.56, 308, 30.06 7mm mag, 338 lapua 50 BMG and 12ga slug, on AR 10,15, M1A, HK91, and several bolt platforms, which I have both used both Harris and Shooters Ridge Bipods. That being said I have 6 or more Shooters Ridge bipods on my weapons and 2 Harris. In my opinion they are both great and way better than anything else on the market. If you have a stable shooting platform and the bipod is mounted properly to the weapon, there is no difference between the two bipods. I have average .25 to .50 MOA at 100 yards most of the time with either bipod. Actually I feel like I have wasted my money on the 2 Harris bipods I own when I could have bought 2 Shooters Ridge bipods and used the extra money saved for ammunition or optics. The shooter also has alot to do with how well the bipod works. If the Harris bipod's float your boat get one, other wise you can't go wrong with the Shooters Ridge bipod either for a lesser price, and use the money saved on other accessories!

Used this bipod for years ...

Used this bipod for years and they are OK for what they are. The only thing I don't really like about it is you have to constantly tighten the bolts that connect the legs to the body of the bipod and this is a continuous problem.If they come unscrewed, the springs will shoot back in the legs and are a pain to fix them back WHEN (not if) it happens.If they would use a locknut, I would give 5 stars.

I took this bipod hunting once and a screw fell out. I had to find a new screw. I don't like how far the legs bow out when not deployed. I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent product for the price. Seems to hold up pretty well. The only thing I didnt like was that its kind of hard to adjust the height on the legs if you are laying in the prone. It took a lot of moving around and a lot of effort to do it.

There are a few differences between this and the Harris bipod. I have the Harris version of this and it has a sling stud attached on the forward portion of the base of the tripod mount. This Chinese one does not. This Chinese one is gloss black, and is made of thinner metal than the Harris. The Harris is matte black and heavier. The tightening wheel of the Harris is machined where the wheel of this Chinese clone is cast. Put side-by-side, this Chinese one is clearly of lesser quality than the harris. However, for the money, it's a decent bipod. I'll use it on my 10/22's but will continue to use the Harris units on my heavier caliber rifles.

I was skeptical about the quality until my shipment arrived. Once at the range I gave it the full treatment. 223, 270, 30-06, 300 RSAUM, 338 and no problems. I then attached it to my TC Encore rifle, it did work. But since there isnt much stock in front of the sling stud.. I had to retighten the bipod after each 20 minute shooting session. Also, if I adjusted one of the legs to level the rifle and then tightened down the dial lock (located on each leg), one shot and I had to re-level and re-lock. It couldnt handle the bounce of the recoil. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a lower cost alternative.

This is a Chinese ...

This is a Chinese imitation of the Harris Bipod L1A1 9-13". I know because I have both types of bipod and the construction is of a similar design.However, the rollpins on the rubber feet of the Shooter's Ridge will pop out after about 1000 rd of 7.62x39 and cause the internal spring to retract. I fixed the bipod but it wasn't easy. Complete disassembly of the leg is mandatory.
