I recently received my extensions for my M&P40. They were kind of tight going on and the fit was great. It was easy to load 20rds (+5) into the mag. They were easy to seat in the gun fully loaded. At the range they functioned perfectly. The only reason I gave 4 stars, is they fail to lock back when empty. The mag spring tension is a little light when the mags are empty. An extra power spring should fix that problem if/when they become available.

I have come across two of ...

I have come across two of these, and just installed one on an otherwise perfectly functioning M&P0 17 round magazine. The install itself was easy once I got the replacement spring plate on.17 + 6 should be 23. Even with a MagLula I could not get the last one in. Even 22 though, is a respectable number, and I can be happy with that.All of the rounds cycled normally, but the slide did not lock back after the last. I didn't have the opportunity to put more than one load-up through it, so I don't know if this is a consistent failue or if it is impacted by ammo type. (Wolf Military Classic 9mm was used)I am currently looking for an extra-power spring for this mag. If I find one that allows it to run properly, I'll keep this setup as my nightstand gun. If not, I'll be putting them up for trade.

I ordered two of these some time ago and installed them without a hitch. One was easy to load the additional 5 rounds, the other was easy to load 3 but the 4th was hard and the 5th wasn't happening without a bit of work. I could understand that and didn't mind, my issue was when it came time for the gun to function. My extensions did not come with an extra power spring but my magazines themselves were brand new. I loaded up and went to the range, and jam after jam. The springs were not enough to push the rounds up and they wound up all sorts of jammed in the magazine. I had to take the baseplate off of one just to unload the mag. If these came with extra power springs they would be great, but to expect for them to work with the standard magazine springs is too much.

Simple install, worked perfectly (at +5 9mm). I found +5 for the 9mm to be the simplest, I didn't try to push the 23rd into the magazine. Felt really tight already. No issues with slide lock back on last round. Worked perfectly.

I bought two of these to use with my S&W M&P 9mm longslide. I decided to be satisfied with 5 extra rounds, that last one really needed to be forced in, if it went at all. Obviously I never had any intent to carry this big gun concealed, so the extra grip length and weight doesn't matter. Everything still functions like it's supposed to and it really looks like a race gun now.

These base pads gave me plus five (9mm) easily. You can get six in if you push very hard, but there is no way you could seat the magazine with the slide forward. I would also worry about damaging the feed lips this way. I did not realize there was an option for longer springs too. With the stock springs, my slide would not lock back on an empty magazine. If you need it to lock back, get the springs.

Easy to install and works without loading or feeding issues. Although getting to that last extra round in is very tight. (I shoot with 19rnds per mag and 14rnds for stock). Overall finish is a little lacking in comparison to stock, but has held up to 200rnds thus far.

It worked just fine, only took a few seconds to put together and in no time I had a 20 round clip for my .40 M&P. Unlike the other review I didn't have any problem with the slide locking back after the last round was ejected. I did find it a little tough to get all 20 into the clip though, maybe it's just me. I don't have a good use for it when I carry, but it is great for the range.

I installed one this evening on a .40 S&W M&P mag. Fairly easy to install and fit is very good. Thumb-loading I was only able to load 19 rounds and there does not appear to be any more room. I'll order a mag loader and see if that will allow me to add number 20.
