I used this mount on a Venezuelan 24/30 large ring Mauser 98 action for a conversion project to build a custom 25-06 varmint rifle. The rifles receiver will have to be drilled and taped to accept the scope mount. I used a gunsmith to drill and tap the receiver. At the same time the original three position Mauser safety was replaced by a Buehler two position to accommodate scope clearance. The mount fit perfectly and the cutout allows for ejection of rounds without interference. The windage screws on the back of the mount allow for making bore sighting easier. The only thing about this mount is the distance between the rings. A scope with a short tube length will not have much play for correct sight alignment i.e., when you move you head away from the stock and back again the scope should be clear and not have that black ring in your field of view.
