GameKing bullets feature a boat tail design to bring hunters the ballistic advantage normally found with match target bullets. This bullet was designed for the 35 Whelen and other similar cartridges but is not suited for use in the 35 Remington. This .358 diameter bullet from Sierra is a real performer when it hits tough bony flesh. I use this bullet in my 350 rem. mag to hunt wild pigs down in Texas. I recently killed a 546 pound black boar in the Texas Panhandle area. The shot was made from about 110 yards, and the bullet went in directly through the left shoulder. The bullet penetrated the heart/lung area and exited the animal just below the right shoulder. The exit wound broke the right front leg, so with both front legs out of commission, the animal folded up no more than 5 yards from where I made the shot. The load I used was 53 grains of IMR 4320 in a remington case with a remington 9.5 primer. The load is seated to a maximum length of 2.8 inches. The rifle I use is not a super accurate weapon...a 1965 remington model 600 mohawk. The stubby little rifle will put 5 of these rounds into 3" at 100 meters. More than enough for what I use the rifle for. In conclusion, it is a fine bullet that is reasonably accurate out of my firearm, and will decisively put down any animal on the North American continent!

I'm with Mike from SC. This is a very accurate bullet but I've had some problems with it on the business end of game. It worked great on a small whitetail. breaking both shoulder and dropping the animal instantly without a lot of blood-shot meat around the wound channel. I've shot a couple of hogs with it and though we anchored one and found the other a short distance away, the bullets came apart and !!! changed directions!! i.e. separated and the core went one way and the jacket the other.My choice for the father is a premium bullet to hunt with and lots of rock/practice shooting with the less expensive bullets The rifle is a custom built 35 Whelen that chrono's at 2700 and a little change.Shoot straight!!

I purchased these when the Nosler ballistic tips went off the market. These have become the new favorite of my 35 Whelen. Good performance with this bullet and R-15 in my 7600 pump. The last deer I harvested with it was hit in the hind quarter and the bullet went through 3.5 feet of Pennsylvania 6 point before coming to rest under the hide on the opposite shoulder. The recovered bullet weighs about 190 grains and the core and jacket are still intact. The buck went about 15 feet. He was standing on a steep slope and rolled downhill. The amount of meat loss was disappointing to my dogs, only about 1/2 pound of deer for them. Like Elmer Keith used to say, you could eat right up to the bullet hole. My 358 Winchester favors this bullet as well.

This is the go to bullet for deer sized game. Because of the nature of the jacket on this bullet it is NOT the right bullet for Elk or Moose or Big Bears. Buy some premium bullets for that sized game. But if you want a bullet that is cheap to shoot and is deadly accurate in a BT design and will fold up a deer like a cheap card table this is it. If you want to spend a lot of money for premium bullets thats ok to, but for what its worth in a review done in Canada over a 15 year period on Moose the bullet that actual had the best overall performance was just a box of Speer 250gr HC bullets. They tried all the bonded stuff in the tests but the Speer trimmed em all, when shot from 35 Whelens ,350 RM and 358W's velocities.

I agree with Mr. Taylor of IL. Great accuracy, and people need to get over so-called "jacket-separation" as a copper jacket was originally intended to keep the barrel from leading when using smokeless powders. The Jacket is meant to deliver lead to the target...period. How much it mushrooms/expands depends on hardness of lead and design/construction of tip & ogive. Choose the right bullet for the game you hunt. Bottom line, if you depend on non-separating jackets for humane kills, you need to work on marksmanship, not better bullets, as this is about as accurate as they come. As per some comments about weight retention....you shoot anything at 30 yds with a bullet going over 2600fps of course the bullet is going to explode/fragment at that range...even FMJ bullets will fragment, unless steel-cored. Of course at 30 yds. you have no excuse for not hitting the vitals to begin with, fragments or not. My only wish is a centered cannelure for crimping. The 35 Whelen can hold this bullet quite well with just neck tension (with good dies) during recoil, but unless I use a sturdy 'bite' type roll crimp with 350 Rem. Mag. I have had some bullets 'migrate' a bit in the neck during recoil. This may lead to shortened case life; "The stouter the crimp-the sooner the neck splits." But for the accuracy I gain, I can live with the shorter case life. Give and take in life, but this bullet will deliver the lead if you belong to the nation of riflemen.

Very accurate out of my Ruger Hawkeye in .358 Winchester. (Sub-MOA @ 200yds) Only one animal taken with it so far. Medium size doe broadside @ 97yds. Hit her mid-way up the shoulder with complete pass-through breaking the off shoulder. To say the least she crumpled at the shot. Very impressive.

Incredibly accurate in my custom barreled 35 Whelen carbine. I've shot 27 Whitetail deer with this bullet over the years all with the animal dropping on the spot. I have experienced some jacket / core separations but I can't dispute the performance. I would however use a more stoutly constructed bullet if were to go after larger more heavily boned critters.

Well, I finished the 2009-2010 Kansas deer season shooting the Sierra GameKing in my 35 Whelen again. During the first part of the season, I used the Speer 250gr. HotCor, and it shot well, but didn't get the kind of stopping effect the Sierra has delivered. I think it is more of a Moose/Big bear bullet. The Sierra stops deer cold with even a poor hit. I still haven't recovered any bullets, and they have all still been pass throughs. Accuracy with this bullet and RL 15 powder remains under .7 in. at 100yds. I killed about 7 deer with it this year, counting the finishing shots for my hunting buddies. This bullet works, and if it separates, its out there somewhere past the deer I have shot so far. I can't tell how well it mushrooms, but it goes through a deer and leaves a 2" exit wound at 400yds. That's good enough for me.

Looking for a hunting load for Browning BLR .358 win with 1-12" twist. H335 using Win brass & primers, producing 1" groups @ 100 yards. Can't wait to try this combo on game (Axis Deer & Boars). Bullets de-cored in back stop, however bullet jacket is much thicker than 165 grain 308 GameKing's used in another .308 BLR. Looks like it's going to make big holes and nice blood trails in thick brush.

I started testing loads in my 358 norma with this bullet. After shooting four different cloverleaf groups at 100 yds i stopped testing anything else. I do not think anything will shoot more accurate. Both h414 and 4064 powders worked the best. I will try these on game hopefully this fall.

This is my favorite bullet so far for my .358 Win. It shoots 1/2 MOA with my load. This is my black bear rifle and I have yet to shoot one with it so I can't rate it based on terminal performance yet. Great otherwise!!
