I bought this 6 months ago and put on my Dad's Remington 870. It's great for the price and has the quality of an $80-$100 scope. Easist setup I ever did on mounting too. You'll love it! Works great at low light in evenings too. I love it so much, I just bought another one for my own!

Easy to mount.Dot looks clear, except in the brightest sunlight. Battery life is good. The bad part is that it has some sort of strange parallax error... the zero seems to move slightly (about 4 MOA, or the width of the dot) You can honestly hold a tighter group with iron sights.

I first bought a RD30 to mount on a Thompson Contender .357 MAG barrel and was impressed that it held up when shooting max loads. Over a period of time, I bought or received several more that have been mounted on other Contender barrels and other guns.I sent BSA a defective unit and received a new unit that sat unopened in my gun safe as a back-up. Upon opening up this factory new unit, I discovered that the brightness control was almost impossible to turn and I promptly returned it to BSA with a detailed explanation that it was previously unopened and never used. Although their standard one year limited warranty had passed, BSA was most gracious to agree to repair or replace the unused RD30. However, the returned unit was nearly as bad and it was not in the protective wrapping and was missing most accessories. While attempting to get the problem resolved, I was advised that BSA doesnt do a 100% inspection and it appears that their repair/warranty unit lacks proper procedures to work on, repair and replace these units. My original RD30 is still working well and I believe BSAs once good quality has greatly diminished to the point that one should look elsewhere.

Looks like a good scope, but with a light twist with a simple screwdriver the threads of the mounting screws were stripped. Haven't even gotten to shoot with it. I have another BSA red dot and it worked well on my AR 15 so far no good for this one.

After mounting it on my Remington 870, it did not last through 20 slugs. The front glass broke. I also give it a poor rating for its parallax, this was very noticeable when aligning it with my bore sight.

I mounted this on my Saiga. Sight worked good for 100 rounds or so. Mount came loose, so I attempted to tighten the knobs. 1 of the screws stripped. The screws should be made of a harder steel since it's a firearm-related product.

Garbage. Bought for use as aneconomical trial for co-witness sighting.The dot was so far to the right, that when I tried adjusting it to center, the screw fell out. I removed the battery and set it at the business end of the firing range.
