Precision ground stainless steel shims (washers) remove side-to-side play for crisper, more consistent trigger pull. Works on Volquartsen and factory parts, too! Fits Ruger 10/22 and Ruger 10/22 Magnum.

A must have for doing ...

A must have for doing custom trigger work on your ruger 10/22. Shims can be a pain to install but that's not the products fault. I used some Vaseline to help hold the shims together for insertion. I've had my trigger assembly apart multiple times to take up the slop, but now its perfect.

The hammer shims are very ...

The hammer shims are very easy to install. Trigger shims are a bit more tricky, but still do-able if you have 15 minutes to kill. I used all 8 shims, and they still did not take out all the play in my hammer, sear, or trigger. I'd say they got rid of about 60 to 70% of the play. This kit should come with 6 or 8 of each instead of 4. That is the only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars. If you don't want to have to re-order and re-install additional shims later, I advise you buy 2 kits so you will have enough shims to rid yourself of the incredible slop in the factory assembly.

These shims are pretty ...

These shims are pretty easy to install. First thing to do is throw away the directions that Power Custom sends with them. Hopefully you took the other reviewers comment about ordering TWO SETS seriously because you are probably going to need more than one set to do this right. Here's a few hints to keep you from giving up and shipping the whole thing to a gunsmith because if you use P/Cs directions you're going to do just that. Starting with the sear, slide the sear pin part way into the trigger and use a large needle pick up the number of shims you want to try. Slide the shims off of the needle onto the shear pin sticking through the trigger. Now install the sear and push the pin into the sear leaving it flush with opposite side where you're going to put the second set of shims. Use the needle to pick up the shims and with the trigger laying on the side that the pin is still protruding through (you can use a small block of wood with a 1/4" hole drilled through it to lay the trigger on so the pin won't try to push through). Slide the shims between the trigger and the sear using the pin. Now through the hole in the trigger use the needle to line the shims up with the sear pin and push the pin through into the trigger. Now that wasn't really too bad but here's the tricky part, you can't install the trigger into the trigger assembly because the sear pin A.K.A. "TRIGGER HAMMER PIVOT PIN" is sticking out on each side of the trigger and if you try to slide the pin out all of the shims will fall out onto your bench. Crappy situation and the GREAT instructions that came with the shims are once again worthless! Feel the panic setting in yet? Well here's a pretty easy solution to this problem. Find something that has the same diameter of the sear pin, I had some assorted pieces of brass rod laying around and found one the same diameter of the pin, approx. 0.124"/3.15mm. Don't use anything that's threaded since it could hang on the shims, smooth works best here. It can even be
