Product Information

If you're tired of fighting a heavy, gritty trigger this is an excellent choice for a factory rifle trigger upgrade. Includes a top safety, a bottom bolt release and is pre-set for a 1lb pull. The trigger pull can be adjusted from 1-1/2 oz to 3 lbs using the included springs. Fits the Remington 700 and 40X rifles, right hand only. The stainless steel trigger face is smooth and measures 0.181" wide. Gunsmith fitting recommended.

Technical Information

The model 7 requires a different bolt release lever which is available from Jewell

Once installed, trigger can be fine tuned without disassembling the rifle.

Stainless Steel construction is virtually maintenance free.

Trigger installation was ...

Trigger installation was relatively easy; it was truly a drop-in fit for my new 700 VSSF. Stock trigger out-of-box trigger pull was about 6 lbs. 10 oz.; I adjusted my new Jewell from the 1 lb. set weight to about 2 lbs. 5 oz.. As expected, the trigger is excellent in feel and well-made. Installation note: The trickiest part of the installation may be the bolt release spring return. Since the stock spring is re-used, take a good look at placement before disassembling the stock setup. When putting the spring back into place, a small Allen wrench inserted from the opposite side of the trigger proves invaluable to holding the spring into position while putting in the rear pin. Tools recommended: Allen wrenches, gunsmith's nylon/brass hammer and various sized punches.

I had a gunsmith build me a rifle for long range. He said you need a Jewell trigger and I said ok. That was about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Jewell trigger worked great on my range gun. Until about 3 weeks ago. I noticed after chambering a round that the safety was only halfway between fire and safe. As I flipped the safety off the gun fired. Cleaned with lighter fluid and compressed air. Same problem. Tried to adjust. Ended with it as tight as it would go. With the screws tight and all way out as needed. Just so no one thinks I just tightened all of them. At least the safety would work but flip to fire and its gone.Called Jewell and they said send it back. 15.00$ paid by me to send it back. With my email and phone # included of course. Almost 3 weeks later with no contact I called Jewell. I said I wanted to make sure the trigger had made it to them. After I gave my name and waited 5min he said yes, looks like its finished. He had to grind the shoe down a little. He said. Then proceeded to tell me that it would be $25.00 for the work and shipping. A 1 1/2 yr trigger with less than 300 rounds fired on it and it wasn't my fault for their defect. In my opinion if your looking for a trigger go for a basix. Customer service has to be better this. When your spending $220.00 for a trigger and (then include when you send back shipping and shipping back to you and for them fixing their defect) I don't see how you come out good.

I bought this for my 700 LTR .308 which already had an aftermarket adjustable trigger that felt good but was inconsistent, like 2-3 lbs inconsistent over 10 pulls. All I can say about the Jewell is WOW. Installed it at the shooting bench in about 15 minutes and what a difference. Mine actually measured 14oz of pull and since my rifle will be used for more than bench shooting I adjusted it as close to 2 lbs as I could get it, 1lb 14oz and varies maybe 2oz. If you're on the fence about buying one, just do it. IMHO it's worth every penny.

Much inproved over factory trigger. Came set at 1lb, a little light but can be reset with allen wrench. Instructions a little short but once rifle is removed from the stock and noting how the factory trigger works you can figure it out. Look closley at how the bolt release works before removing the factory trigger as you will reuse the factory spring, the use of a drift punch will help getting the spring and bolt release back together. Once the trigger is installed make sure the saftey functions and no stock material rubs the saftey.Time to change out is about 45 minutes, tools one or two drift punches and a small hammer. Great trigger!

I have never installed a trigger before but in 5 minutes I was up and running. The factory set 1.4 lb pull is perfect for match shooting so no adjustment was necessary.It doesn't get any better than this.

Just installed and range tested today. All I can say is, WOW..!!!! Tight groups at 100 - 200 - 400yrds. The reviews on the safety lever did add an extra on install an addtional 10 minutes. No big...Worth the time

I picked up a used varmint grade 700 Remington in 223 last October while traveling to Montana to hunt coyotes . After I had it shipped home I discovered the trigger adjustment screw would stick way down when adjusted for a varmint pull weight . I picked this trigger after reading the reviews here. After carefully looking at the factory trigger , I had no trouble replacing it with the Jewel . The difference was astounding . The rifle which had shot about one inch groups now is capable of one quarter inch groups . As usual , Midway got the trigger to me lickity-split too . Thanks . Oh yeah , there was some minor fitting to be done . Big deal .

Trigger itself is amazing, as you'd expect. I did not have to modify my Bell and Carlson stock at all. One drawback: The trigger comes with no installation instructions. I don't mean bad instructions--I mean no instructions.
