Product Information

This quality two-stage trigger allows sear engagement and trigger pull weight adjustment from the top of the lower receiver without disassembly of the firearm. Includes trigger, trigger spring, disconnector, hammer and hammer spring. This trigger features a 1 to 7 lb range of pull. Not recommended for use with military ammunition. Careful adjustment required, tools and detailed instructions included. Gunsmith fitting recommended.

AR-15 Hammer and Trigger Pin Dimensions:

Some Colt® AR type rifles have been manufactured with hammer and trigger pins and holes which are approximately .176" in diameter. These are referred to as "large pin" Colts. This was done to eliminate the chances of someone putting M16 fire control parts into an AR receiver. This is not found in all Colt models, just some.

All other AR type rifle manufacturers have stayed with the .156" diameter hammer and trigger pins and holes, or "small pin" which is the same spec used in all military M16 rifles.

I purchased and installed ...

I purchased and installed a Jewell trigger in my Buskmaster. First of all, it's fairly easy, the only tricky part is getting the pin retaining spring to seat properly. The instructions aren't the greatest, my only real complaint, but more information can be found on the web. The trigger is adjustable for first stage pull, second stage pull, sear engagement and overtravel. Go slow, don't overdue it! I had some issues with my trigger but Jewell stands behind their product. My group size is now half what it used to be and this trigger gets the credit.

The Jewell trigger is in my opinion a great design, poorly executed. It is a drop in part and installs fairly easily. It also seems to work quite well, but I was expecting a much more precise trigger. The hammer face and hooks look like they were machined on a belt grinder. The disconnector is very loose and wobbles to the left when the hammer is pushed back. This indicates to me that the contact surfaces are misaligned. I cant help but think that this is going to be a problem in the near future.

My first Adjustable two ...

My first Adjustable two stage. I did a lot of research on dual stage triggers including all the name brands. The Jewell struck me, as an engineer, as a very good design and the adjustments are done w/o removal or spring bending, excellent! I do not like the spring pin retention design. I would have liked a new set of non rotating pins even if it cost a bit more. Also, there was a bit of play in the trigger hole/pin. The hammer hole/pin was perfect! I have called them and they will replace the trigger if need be. The feel and operation of the trigger is excellent. The weight of the 1st and 2nd stage was perfect for me as delivered. We will see how it will hold up after a few hundred rounds, I will re submit a review since I will be buying another one soon. Be Safe!

Jewell triggers are the best in the industry. If you are a novice to AR 15's and really not sure that you have the ability to install this trigger, have your local gun smith install one. Jewell Inc. should provide clearer instructions. It would be helpful if Larry would incorporate an installation video. Once you have installed the trigger, make sure you verify your bolt will set the second stage of the trigger. Other wise, you will experience miss firing when the bolt cycles. I wouldn't even have a second thought on this trigger. The first stage and the second stage transition is very smoth with a very crisp firing of the gun. YOUR MONEY IS SPENT WELL!

Have not had a good experiance with this trigger, trigger is stiff, causing hammer not to release properly, multiple misfires. Do not waste your money.

Very good trigger for an AR platform. Takes more time to install than other triggers, but well worth the time. Had to perform some minor fitting by removing a small amount of material from under the Bushmaster safety selector. The rifle is set-up for varmint hunting with the second stage set for 1.5 lbs. Perfect for my application. When installed & adjusted properly, the trigger will break clean, with no overtravel. Jewell also offers very good customer service. Would not recommend for personal defense or combat due to the more complex design. Own two other Jewells for the Remington 700. I have found these to be the best triggers I have used.

I have several "match grade" triggers in my precision rifles, & without question, this is my favorite!! In addition, if you want a two stage trigger in an AR platform, without qualification, this is the best product out there, The two stages are nearly infinity adjustable when it come s to pull weights, so much so, that this trigger is even better than the 2 stage triggers available for my bolt guns!! It's very crisp, allows the user to quickly, & precisely, adjust both the first, & second stage pull weights, and supposedly can be used as just a single stage trigger if that is so desired by the shooter. Not only that, but I've used it probably 10K times or more, & it shows no signs of wear, a claim I can't make on ANY of my other AR triggers! Jewell really had their act together when they designed this piece of kit. It's so good, it may make your AR rifle your favorite gun to shoot! Absolutely, & without qualification, I can recommend this product, a claim I most definitely cannot say about a large percentage of the aftermarket products available to gun owners!

I have been using this trigger heavily in my Bushmaster Ar-15 Competition Rifle for the last year. The trigger breaks cleanly and works very well when it is working. I have had to readjust the mechanism at least six times due to the trigger dropping weight. (Usually just before a big match, which causes a problem because the trigger must weigh in at 4 1/2 pounds for the competitions I shoot.) I would not recommend this trigger to the serious competitor.

While I must confess that I didn't have to put my trigger in, I received my Les Baer Ultimate Varmint rifle with one already installed. To say that I like it is an understatement, as it's one of the better triggers in my firearm inventory. It's infinitely adjustable for weight of pull in both first & second stage configurations, & also for just single stage use as well. In addition to that, you can individually adjust the weight of EACH stage in the two stage configuration, lowering the overall weight to just over 2 pounds. I must say, I'm surprised other manufactures haven't found a way to compete with this trigger, since, without qualification, it's one of the nicest trigger's made (If not, perhaps THE nicest!!) and to be able to install it in an AR platform just makes it all the more amazing. Without a doubt a 5 star product!!

Had lots of Problems with ...

Had lots of Problems with this trigger. Lots of misfires. Seems like it takes a lot of pressure when you are still holding the trigger and the hammer needs to lock back. I feel the back spring is too strong. No adjustment. Also with a Gemtech M4-02 silencer on AR it would not function properly. Put original trigger in AR and all work great. Sent back to Midway.

I received my trigger ...

I received my trigger yesterday and installed it last night. I felt the instructions were very clear and complete enough. I did have to removed some of the frame behind the trigger, not a big deal couple of swipes with a chainsaw file. I tried the trigger today and I believe it is the best trigger I have ever had and I do own a couple Coopers and Kimbers. I will start saving and try to put one on every rifle I own. Thank you Jewell.
