The Lee Magnum Melter Furnace was designed especially for the ladle caster. It features all of the great features of the Pro 20 including a large 4" diameter pot that hold approximately 20 pounds of lead and a 700-watt tubular heating element. This furnace does not have bottom pour capability and is designed for ladle casting only.

The magnum melter is well ...

The magnum melter is well made and heats very fast. I cast exculsively with a ladle method. after approximatedly 8 to 10 thousand cast bullets, I have had no problems what so ever with this product. Given the quality of this product, I am sure that the Lee Magnum Melter will last for thousands of more bullets.For the caster that uses a ladle to cast bullets this product is hard to beat.

Fast melting, big pot ...

Fast melting, big pot makes it easy for dipping, temp control makes it easy to keep the lead at a constant temp.

From the moment I plugged it in and started using it, it worked well. Once you find a good heat setting for the size of bullet you are casting, just leave it there, works great.

The melting pot did an ...

The melting pot did an extremely good job of melting the lead. My biggest problem was pouring out of the bottom. The Bullets I casted via pouring from the bottom never did turn out very well. They had swirls, hot/cold spots. I turned up the furnace to high to try and compensate for the swirls. . no luck. I tried heating up my hold to a higher temperature, and still couldn't keep the swirls out. After about 4 hours, I gave up. . .Picked up my Lee Ladle dipper and started casting perfect bullets with the Ladle. Personally it is a great lead melter. It works fantastic with a ladle and dipping. it would work fantastic with fishing weights. But for my 50 cal conicals, it was worthless.

Great product for casting bulluts. Fast melt time as advertised, and easy to control alloy temperature for good quality cast bullets. Large pot capacity is a definite plus when you need to cast alot of bullets.

I ladle cast 550 grain bullets for my Sharps rifle and could not ask for a better furnace. Will soon order a bottom pour for the rest of my 23 molds (19) of them are LEE and 7 of those have cast over 15.000 bullets EACH. They are the best

Just to set the capacity record straight, my first load of this pot required 17 pounds of alloy, meaning that it might really hold 20 pounds of lead. Recovery time is excellent. My sole dislike is that the small diameter of the pot requires careful placement of the dipping ladle that I use. Overall a very good pot, especially for the cost. Availability of replacement parts makes it most attractive.

For the price and what it does, the Lee Pot is a best buy. Seeing as the components amongst the more expensive melting pots and the Lee are similar, the value priced Lee, is an outstanding bargain!

This thing rocks! I use this pot to make ingots and to refill my down pour pot. I can go through a 5 gal bucket of wheel weights in an 1 1/2 to 2 hours. It heats fast and is trouble free. Highly recommended.
