This Buttpad increases the length of pull for a better fit. Fits the A2 stock and adds 1-1/4". It is made from a hard polymer and installs with a screwdriver and Allen wrench.

It was easy to install (just make sure you don't lose the little spring near the front of the stock when the stock pulls away from the receiver) and made my LAR-15 varminter much more comfortable to shoot. I was skeptical that it would be enough (I am a little over 6'6" barefoot) and therefore planned to buy the bushing that goes in front of the stock later. This extended recoil pad was enough, though. I no longer have to crane my neck back to get it to the right position. The one possible drawback, as has been pointed out, is you no longer have access to the compartment in the stock, but this doesn't matter to me.

To start, my idea of a RECOIL pad is a butt pad that reduces felt recoil. There is no way this item is going to reduce felt recoil as it is hard plastic. Second, the fit is fair at best. Unless my 450 bushmaster with a full length stock is not to standard this product is narrower width wise and shorter length wise than my stock. I would not recommend this product.

The fit and finish of this extended butt plate is less than desirable but I knew this going in to the purchase. On a good note, this butt plate is the only one that gives me a 1-1/4 extended pull. It is solid and will hold the screws tight. It can take abuse in the field and offers a firm shoulder weld. Now when I shoot I have perfect eye relief to the scope. No more moving my head to find the sweet spot on high power. I gave it 3 starts because it solved more issues for me than the looks.

I bought this to increase the length of pull on my AR-15 with the standard A2 stock. It mounted perfectly and the only reason I did not give it a full five stars is because it is slightly smaller than the end of the A2 stock so that there is a 1/32" ridge all the way around. I really don't care since this is a rifle, not a showpiece.As another reviewer stated, this is not a recoil pad, but I'm not sure why you'd need on an AR.

It's not really a pad just an extension. Adds 1-1/4 inches to your A2 buttstock. It doesn't match perfectly to the Bell and Carlson thumbhole stock. Also, it does not come with buttstock screws so make sure you order them with the extension buttplate.

Bought this to increase length of pull. It would have worked fine for this if it had lined up with the stock even halfway. Fit was terrible with huge gaps. I can't recommend this, you're better off just dealing with a short length of pull.
