The Lyman Rotary Case and Media Separator is an essential tool every reloader should have. It makes emptying media from freshly tumbled cases a snap. With several turns of the handle the media falls to the solid bottom of the separator, leaving the cases clean and ready to use and media where it can easily be poured into a storage container.

Notes: Pour tumbler contents in to basket cover the lid and turn the handle until all of the media has fallen to the bottom of the catch container

Product works fine, but ...

Product works fine, but the handle design is a pain. You have to remove them to open the basket and put them back one to keep the thing together and spin them as they act as the bearings. It could have been better designed with latches. I prefer the Frankford design as it is much easier to deal with.

I use this for my stainless steel tumbling to separate the steel media (wet) from the cases. It works very well. I also previously used it to separate the corncob media from the brass. Saves time and mess.

This thing is AWESOME. I use ceramic media with a wet solution in a Thumbler's To clean my brass and it's always a pain to get all the media out of the wet cases, especially 5.56. This separator makes the job much faster and easier, I just dump the barrel into the basket, close it up and about 30 seconds later I'm done. ALL of the 3mm ceramic media is out of the brass. I actually like the quick detach hinges, I just completely remove the lid before I dump the media and water back into the tumbler barrel. For what? 36 bucks? You can't go wrong. 5 stars.

Good product, works well ...

Good product, works well at getting whatever media is used off the brass. Works a lot better than a strainer or a screen as the rotation helps get the media out of the case bodies. My only complaint is I wish the hinges were not quick detach, the halves keep separating when I dump media or lift the lid up too high.
