This aluminum rail mount provides a stable Picatinny-style platform above the receiver, perfect for a Red Dot or other optical sight or scope. Black.

Technical Information

Finish:Black anodized

Notes: Fits into the slot on the left side of the receiver, this slot is a separate piece that is tack welded on to some AK-47s and most all AK-74s.
Early AK-47s may not have this "scope mounting slot" and this ProMag part will not mount to these rifles.

I bought this product for ...

I bought this product for my WASR-10. I did not have any of the fitting problems that have been described below, and I think that they may be user error. The frame's alluminum body is light and durable, adding little weight to the gun while providing (in my opinion) a stable optics platform. I will say, however, that the rail is set a bit high; while this provides use of the iron sights, it makes the use of most scope rings impractical. I suggest the use of optics with low bases or otherwise short rings. Overall a good product for the money, just not always scope friendly.

There just aren't many ...

There just aren't many good ways of getting a scope onto an AK, and this is a compromise too. Well made and easy to securely fit onto a Romanian via the "few swipes with a file" method. No problem using the irons with this mounted. My only beef is that it is WAY too high to get a good ergonomic shoulder and cheek weld firing position, unlike the eastern block mounted scopes made for the AK, this mount makes for an uncomfortable package.

Mount is beautifully ...

Mount is beautifully finished and looks great. Mounted it on a Romanian WASR-10. Had to give the cam about 6 swipes with a file before it would lock down, but that's a lot better than it being loose. It's absolutely solid. Raises a scope or red dot a couple inches above the dust cover, which is just what was needed.

Wonderful for the price. ...

Wonderful for the price. Gave it a 4 stars because it took me 3 hours to get it fitted to my rifle. But once fitted the mount works great. Allows me to put a red-dot sight on my AK.

promag makes some good ...

promag makes some good prouducts, this aint one of them. upon first installing it fits very loosly on the side mount. when I locked the cam lever in place(very easily done, with out force) it canted quite aways, bad enough that there is no way to mount a scope or red dot on it. also the aluminum is very soft and it almost pulled off the side mount when locked into place that first time.

I have a WASR10 and I ...

I have a WASR10 and I mounted this mount on it. The fit was tight. The vertical alignment of barrel and scope rail is off about 3/8 to 1/2". This offset causes a x-pattern horizontally to shoot in and will not yield good results from different ranges without rezeroing for each range.

As compared to other ...

As compared to other scope mounts this is the better one. Mounted perfect on my wasr-10 and slide on fine on the side mount. No filing or fabrication to fit just a little elbow grease needed to clamp down nice and tight. Also the fact that I can still use my stock iron sight is a great plus for short range shooting.

This scope is very nicely ...

This scope is very nicely finished. As with others mine had to filed a little to get it to lock, but this is good as it would make every gun and mount fit tight. It rises a scope to the perfect location for me and you can still use the iron sights. Very good deal well see how it holds up to a few 1000 rounds

Quality construction, ...

Quality construction, easy to mount. The problem is it is way too tall. I got it because it would let you see the iron sight. However, the rail is 3/4" higher than needs to be. On my AK, I had to put my chin on the stock. If that is what you want, it is a great product.
