The Lee Precision Carbide Factory Crimp Die is designed to give reloaders the perfect crimp on each round of reloaded ammunition. The Factory Crimp Die crimps the bullet more firmly in place than any other die with more uniform pressure. The Carbide Factory Crimp Die features a carbide ring that sizes the cartridge while it is being crimped so every round will positively chamber freely with factory-like dependability. The adjusting screw quickly and easily sets the desired amount of crimp while a factory-like crimp (Taper crimp) is added to more firmly hold the bullet in place. Lee's testing has shown that using a Factory Crimp Die provides a more uniform pressure curve, increasing the accuracy of any bullet. A firm crimp is essential for dependable and accurate ammunition. Shellholder sold separately.

The Lee factory crimp die, unlike every other crimp die on the market, has a carbide ring that resizes the case after the bullet has been seated. The carbide ring "irons out" wrinkles and bulges in the case and makes ammunition that has a clearance fit in the chamber. Reloaded ammunition that has been built with a Lee factory crimp die will function very VERY reliably. A Lee factory crimp die is the most awesome reloading tool I have ever used, I could not make autoloading ammunition that works as well as it does without a Lee factory crimp die. Let me add a sense of urgency and importance to this message .... BUY ONE NOW NOW NOW !!!! IMMIDIATELY !!! I hope that was clear enough.

Currently trying out Lee's Factory Crimp Die, loading my 45ACP rounds. The best I can rate it is 3 stars (Good), as it is nearly a big enough of a pain to negate its usefulness. Adjustment is relatively easy, but the "Adjustment Screw" does not have a method to lock it in place and as such is easily moved out of adjustment. The Locking Ring on the die utilizes an o ring as it's locking method, and this leaves much to be desired. Again, easily moved out of adjustment in simply screwing the die in/out of the press. I ended up marking the ring & screw with a marker so these marks line up with one on the press when the die is screwed in. I found I needed a full turn of the Adjustment Screw past what the instructions stated would be a "heavy crimp" for the bullets to be crimped well enough that they weren't pushed down into the case mouth when the round was chambered. In the end it does work, crimping & tapering the case as advertised, which is why I gave it 3 stars rather than one.

Lee crimp dies are great for all calibers and gives the projectile a straighter path to the target . lee crimp die are much better than ths roll crimp cause there is no buldge in the case .
Lee Crimp Dies is very easy to set up for the perfect crimp every time .

I had problems with my Colt Gold Cup using reloads. They would not fully chamber. It was hard to open the slide to eject the rounds manually. After using the Lee factory crimp die . All reloaded rounds function flawlessly! I will always use this to insure 100% reliability.

I just added a 38 super to my stable, I ordered Lee dies, but I forgot to order The Factory Crimp die.... I'm so sorry. I love the Factory crimp die for my 45. There is a lot less messing around adjusting for the crimp.

Reason Im giving 5 stars is my Kimber runs flawless now. Even using mixed brass while other crimp dies have failure to feed sometimes. It removes bulges when seating bullets. Easy to adjust but needs heavy crimp or one full turn. Now the negatives are: they use aluminum, o rings and made my Dillon 550b bumpy due to the carbide ring that resizes the completed round. So my decision is to crimp it with my Dillon die using my Dillon 550b press and use my single stage to resize completed round using lee carbide crimp without crimping it. Additional work but it solved my problem.

Oh WOW! I can't wait to get to the range. I have not been reloading for very long, and my pistol reloading has not even been for half of that time. Trying to get the crimp set correctly on the .45 to work consistently in my Kimber has been a huge issue for me.I received this Factory Crimp Die today, looked at the instructions, took a factory loaded round with me, stuck it on my press and adjusted it.I had 50+ rounds that wouldn't fit easily, if at all, into the barrel of my pistol, so I disassembled the pistol, and with the barrel as a guide, checked the before and after on each of those rounds. After running them through the die, each and every one dropped consistently all the way into the barrel, with absolutely no problem whatsoever!That is out of a RCBS Rock Chucker press, and my Lee Load Master will be here on Monday. This will be the last die in the Load Master, and you can bet that I'm going to expect to have some awesome shooting rounds, and a lot more reliability now than I have before.EVERYONE who reloads auto pistol ought to have one of these. If I start reloading for 9mm, you can bet I'll have one of these in my die set!

I shoot 45ACP revolvers. I have a S&W 22-4 that has tight chambers. Ammunition that checked out fine in my Dillon Go/No Go guage would not chamber. Rather than get a new cylinder, I got a factory crimp die and never had another problem. I put it on my Dillon 550B in place of the dillon crimp die and the ammunition runs in everything flawlessly. Excellent product.

I'm very pleased with the performance of this die. Previously, I had been seating and crimping with a single die. Separating those two operations takes a bit more time, but the results are worth it, at least to me. Those ugly case bulges are a thing of the past thanks to the Lee crimp die. I'm going to be buying one of these for every caliber I load for.

I already had 1000 rounds ...

I already had 1000 rounds of 200 gr lswc loaded. It would pass through a case gauge but very tight in my competition 1911 barrel. I ran them through this die and now they all function flawlessly. I won't reload for any more pistol gauges without one.
