Manufactured from heat treated A-2 tool steel with a stainless steel stud. Fits all New Model Ruger Single Action revolvers including Blackhawks, Vaqueros, Bislyes and Single Six. Will not fit Bearcat. Should be used with an oversized base pin properly fitted to cylinder and frame. Part is oversized in profile and thickness and requires fitting and installation by a qualified gunsmith.

The product is as it is ...

The product is as it is advertized.It is not difficult to fit and install if a person has a vise/fixture to hold it and a couple good smaller files and stones. The end result will depend on how careful you are, mine still has a little play, but it's still about 50-60% better than it was.

Instructions are very ...

Instructions are very clear and concise. Takes very careful fitting but when I was done it is like my cylinder and frame are one solid piece of steel.Must use with a fitted base pin and potential end shake bearings (.002 Super Redhawk bearings can be made to work).The entire part needs polishing on mating surfaces to keep the action smooth on slicked up guns. It comes with a somewhat rough surface.I found that just sanding with 600 grit sandpaper would fit the latch to the frame slot and polish the sides. I had to take another 7 thousandths off the tip using a jewelers file to fit snuggly in cylinder notch. Take the last thousandth or so off with 600 grit sandpaper so it is also polished. Check the timing before starting and take the material off the side that will make the timing most correct (unless you're willing to weld up the frame and mill a new slot! Not likely). The timing is still off a bit in my gun but it's not the part's fault.I found I didn't have to remove any material from the rear post, it worked perfectly without modification (other than polishing) even though it is significantly longer than stock.I'll will be purchasing more, along with new base pins, for all my Ruger Single Actions. Very satisfied customer.
