The Wilson Combat ETM (Elite Tactical Magazine) is constructed of Aircraft Grade Certified Stainless Steel Tube and resists corrosion. The ETM boasts the strongest magazine to have ever been delevoped. Featuring an enhanced spring and The which virtually eliminates feed lip cracking, tube spread and general fatigue. It has a longer body to allow for less compression on the magazine spring with no appreciable difference in size compared to seven round magazines. Utilizing an enhanced spring and the strongest body in a production magazine, failure to feed due to cracked feed lips or spring fatigue are virtually eliminated.

Technical Information:

Both sides of the tube have witness slots

Follower has an extended skirt to minimize creep from the tube when the magazine is empty

Base pad is designed to provide a sure grip when pulling the magazine from a pouch

Notes on Selecting the Correct 1911 Magazine:

If the grips on your 1911 measure 4" long, you have a Government/Commander length grip

If the grips on your 1911 measure 3-1/2" long, you have an Officer/Defender length grip

Bought 4 of these for use ...

Bought 4 of these for use with my 1911s and have put 1500 rounds through them. All 4 worked without problems. No failures encountered even with use of extra power recoil springs. All 4 mags held the slide open on the last round fired. Downside is these mags are pricier than others but well worth the money.

I have used Wilson Mags for many years. The ETM mags while they function fine, are not better, in fact, in my opinion, are not as good as the Wilson 47D mags. The 47D mags are much smoother & slicker while loading & unloading. Wilson makes great mags, the BEST, but the ETM isn't the BEST, I'll stay with the 47Ds.

I have used the magazines in my Kimber Compact Ultra Carry, My Ruger SR 1911, and my Rock Island 1911 GI. They work flawlessly in all three weapons. Can shoot Round Ball, semi Wad cutters and Hollow points. Will buy more as needed.

These magazines function more reliably in my Kimbers than Kimber mags.It looks as though Ruger is using them as std. issue with their 1911.

Not good 9mm mags (in Kimbers?)

I love Wilson Combat products. I own several 1911s in 45 acp And trust Wilson mags to work. However, I recently purchased my first 1911 in 9mm. I figured since I have never had a problem with Wilson mags in the past I would pick some up.

After a couple weeks of use I started noticing the bottom of the feedramp on the barrel was becoming chipped and burring. After some Investigating I discovered the top front of the magazine frame was slamming into my barrel everytime I changed mags (this was on all four mags I had). To fix the problem I shaped them with a Dremel as to not contact with the ramp.

After shooting them for another month or so They started causing a whole new set of problems. The feed lips on the top of the mags started spreading. This caused failure to feeds and awful jams. Sometimes the brass would embbed Itself into the lip half way up the ramp. It took prying the round out to clear the jam.

Again, I love Wilson products. But these are by far the worst thing I have ever got from them.
Mybe It's just they don't bond well with Kimbers (I was shooting a Kimber Stainless Target II 9mm by the way). Whatever the case my be, after my experince with them I would not recommend.

P.S. I gave it two stars and not one because I did not try them in a different gun.

what's not to like about these? i've had 90% less problems with my 1911's since using these mags, base plate is great to grab onto, feeds smooth and easy to take apart for cleaning. awesome job wilson combat!

I have been using these Wilson ETM mags in a variety of 1911s including a Wilson Cqb for three years now. They are very reliable with a wide range of ammunition. I love that they will easily seat with the slide forward. They are the only magazine I carry in my pistol these days.

The cure for 1911 feeding problems

Anyone who has ever experienced a failure to feed from their stock 8-round 1911 magazines should immediately purchase as many of these Wilson Combat ETM magazines as they can afford. These magazines are OUTSTANDING and give me a whole new appreciation for my Smith & Wesson SW1911 Pro.

My 1911 originally came with two Check-Mate 8-round magazines and to keep in line with the pistol vendor, I ordered two more which performed similarly. In parallel, I've been on a quest to see which rounds my seemingly finicky 1911 liked. I've stayed away from several reputable brands of ammo because they wouldn't reliably feed the 1st round from a fully loaded stock magazine.

Enter the beautifully designed Wilson Combat ETM magazines. After loading eight rounds, I immediately knew I was in for a treat when pressing -- not slamming -- the full magazine into the pistol. It seems that, in addition to attention to quality, Wilson Combat has given their 8-round magazine a little more breathing room to allow less cartridge-to-cartridge pressure for picking off that first round in a full magazine.

I plan on ordering several more of these magazines and putting my stock/Check-Mate mags up for sale. You can't fully appreciate the difference between stock mags and these Wilson Combat ETM mags without trying them yourself.

Bought several of these for duty use. After being loaded for 5-6 months springs became extremely weak causing malfunctions and feed lips spread causing even more problems. Seems heavy duty but cheaper mags outperformed dramatically.

A little longer than standard, though this is what gives you flawless feeding of all eight. Plastic follower works butter smooth. Very nice.
