This sight requires the "novak low mount cut" or a gunsmith to cut the dove tail. This Sight is a great sight for upgrading any 1911 round top fixed sight slide to adjustable. I've used it on 3 1911's and was very pleased with the finish, fit and performance. I hate to change the front sight height on the slides that didn't originally have a "novak low mount cut" rear dovetail.

Great sights with a little fitting

Possibly my pistol but it did take a bit of file work to get these to fit. Once in place, though, they work great and the adjustments are positive and repeatable.

Clean and simple - just what we wanted, and just as described. The steel is hard and the finish was good.

I ordered this site to replace the soft plastic site on my Sig Sauer 1911-22. I had to file the site a hair in order for it to fit and was able to file and fit it in about 10 minutes. The site is fantastic, easy to adjust and dialed in within 15 rounds. Love being able to adjust windage and elevation. That Sig is now a tack driver. As a note, I also have a fiber optic front site on it from Dawson Precision. The combination really lets the site picture pop into place quickly. Super, couldnt be happier.

Replaced the factory plastic sights on my GSG 1911 22, my first handgun, with this sight in the rear and a fiber optic in the front. What a difference!! Took a little filing, but not much. First time for me doing something like this and I was really happy with the results. Sure made sighting it in SO much easier.

Bought one of these to replace the rear sight on a S&W 5906 with a "Novak" rear sight cut. Be advised S&W Novak rear sight cut on their stainless guns is not a true Novak cut. After a little mill work on the bottom and sides of the sight dovetail it fit the S&W fine. The sight base is not too hard to cut with a file, so this can be done by hand with a little care. The results looks great and gives a much better sight picture when shooting. the only down side is that the front sight has to be raised between .075 to .085.

I bought this very sight about 3 months ago and it has broken already. This is not a bad review however, I do love this rear sight and I will order another one and send this one back to Springfield Armory. The very small ( .060 dia. ) roll pin on the right side front, broke in two, and half of it came out, and made the right side of the sight blade cock up on an angle. ( Makes it impossible to aim at anything ) I managed to replace both pins on the right and left with a straight piece of a large paper clip that goes all the way through, to fix it until my new sight arrives. I know it sounds silly, but it keeps me shooting until I get it replaced. I do love this sight, very adjustable and a great fit, very tight.
