DoubleTap Ammunition is pleased to offer new, unprimed and unfired brass. This is the same high quality brass that is used in their ammunition. Nickel plated brass is not suitable for case forming as it tends to crack due to hardness greater than standard brass. Nickel plated brass is harder on reloading dies due to this greater hardness than brass. Each piece of brass is headstamped "DoubleTap" along with the caliber.

Preparation:

Due to the manufacturing process and/or shipping, case mouths may not be perfectly round. To ensure a round case mouth, cases must be sized (or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through case neck) and deburred/Chamfered prior to loading.

Primers wont seat

I had the same problem as a previous review where primers would not seat flush. Im using a lee load-master and primers will deform before they will seat flush. only fix was to ream out the primer pockets before trying to seat a primer. nickel finish was scrached and thin not smooth like factory nickel cases.

I'm using these cases for my carry 1911. So far all have loaded well on my Dillon RL550 and the primers have seated properly. I've fired all 100 through 3 different 1911's and they function flawlessly. I'll buy these again!

This stuff is awful. I noticed the Winchester large pistol primers would not seat flush with normal effort with my Lee classic turret. Let alone seat .002 below flush as most do. I used a primer pocket uniformer that took a lot of brass out of the bottom corners of the pocket, this allowed the primers to easily set flush, a little extra push resulted in .002 below flush.This is something that just should not be, to have to do brass prep before loading the first time..

I bought this because Star brand wasn't available at the time. I did notice that I was unable to get my Lee case trimmer to fit inside the case. Apparently the cases are a little thicker than other brands. I tried to run them thru the full length sizing die and still couldnt get the trimmer inside the case. The cases were the proper length so trimming wasn't necessary. I used these cases to load rounds for my carry gun; bullets seated a little hard, Lee crimp die seemed to clean up the slight bulge from seating. Loaded rounds fed OK and loads shot to same point of aim as brass rounds with the same primer and powder charge weight. I am totally satisfied with these cases to be used for the purpose I bought them for.
