Great Results

I also did a lot of load work with this bullet for a short barreled Marlin. I settled on 55gr of AA2015. This gets you around 2000fps, without being on the edge. I loaded them hotter, but there is really no point. Whitetails drop really fast with this bullet and as others have said, you can eat up to the bullet hole.

I usually like 400gr or heavier for my 45-70 GG, but took a chance on these due to the great reviews and boy am I glad I did. Using a good dose of IMR 4198 these are very accurate. I took a massive 8 point non-typical weighing 197 lbs. He dropped so fast I thought I had hit him in the spine but later found I hit right where I was aiming, in the neck. Entrance and exit wound was the size of a quarter with no blood shot meat. I have killed several deer with the 45-70 using different bullets each time, but I will be sticking with these.

I cant say enough about this bullet. it performs flawless. I have a marlin guide gun sbl. using Hornady brass and h-4198 I developed a range card shooting no further than 200 yards. And was quite impressed with its drop at that range. killed 2 deer with it so far this year. they both ran about 10 yards and dropped in sight. would recommend it to anyone with a marlin....

I have done a bunch of load work with the 350gr Hornady FP. Great bullet and excellent accuracy out of my Guide Rifle. I am running WW cases, BR2 primers and H4198. I am getting around 1.25 or better at 100 and about 3.5-4" groups at 300 yards. Haven't taken any game with them yet, but I will be using them this year.

Like many others, I shoot these in a Marlin 1895 guide gun. With a stiff charge of IMR 4198 in Remington brass, I can manage sub 1" groups pretty regularly at 100 yards. More than pleased with the accuracy so far, just waiting to try it on bear this fall.

Have used this bullet in my .450 marlin for quite a few years now. Has taken a number of black bear and moose. Can not say a negative thing about it. Only ever recovered one, a perfect mushroom that took 4' of moose to stop.

I can tell you that living in Alaska there is no shortage of moose. With a 45-70 Guide Gun, this bullet and 45.3gr of IMR 4198 at 1950fps. This can be your critter getter! I promise!

I load these over a modest charge of IMR 4064 for my M1895 45-70 Guide Gun. It will shoot them into one hole at 50 yds if I do my part. Drilled through the heart, lungs and far shoulder of a deer that I shot like a laser with very little meat damage. Very good bullet in the 45-70.

The only reason I give ...

The only reason I give this bullet 5 stars is because there isn't a sixth star. I have been working with this bullet extensively for three years for use in commercial 45-70 Marlin ammo. The nose profile prohibits using it in a new mfg Ruger #1. The Marlin throats are much longer which allow this bullet to work perfectly when crimped in the cannelure. The load that I finally settled on goes 2025fps from a 22" barrel. Accuracy is consistently 1 moa or less. Field testers carried this load all over the country and killed numerous elk, mule deer, whitetail, antelope and hogs with it. Not one complaint. Shooters have to fill out reviews with specific data for each animal harvested. Most consider this the perfect 45-70 load. Even at 200 yards the performance on elk has been perfect. I don't know what else you could ask of a bullet.
