Securely holds the upper receiver of an AR-15. Made of delrin for durability and non-marring qualities.

Technical Information

Material: White delrin with metal pins

Notes:

Fixture replaces bolt and lower receiver.

Fixture has two sliding metal pins that lock the fixture to the upper receiver at the same points that the rifle's original takedown pins use.

Bottom of fixture protrudes from upper, providing a clamping area.

Be very careful

was strong enough to remove the flash suppressor, but when I tried to remove the barrel nut, the action block broke, and in turn, broke my upper reciever. Midway has been good about refunding me for the block, just be very careful, apparently there are better options out there for barrel nut removal.

I ordered this unit to install the barrel onto my Ar. Initially it would not fit but then I took out the charging handle. Homer moment there. Now I just need to wait on my free float tube. Buy this if your going to work on your upper.

This action block fit my upper just fine. The pins lined right up. I should have ordered this product prior to working on my upper. A rag inside a vise will not stop scratches and gouges in the finish. This action block will.

People this Item is the only way to do the work to a upper and securely hold it without damaging it. But you will need to know this: it is very large item 7 inches long over 1 1/2 inches wide, 3 inches over all tall and that is the part that goes in the vice ! the part that goes in the upper will only go one way it is built or made for uppers it is not an afterthought tool. You will need it. It looks like it will last years and if you're doing work on upper without one you're taking mighty big chances Go MIDYAWAY USA I sure hopes this helps anyone. The photo is deceiving (well only because it would take half a page) the product is GREAT, well made, and engraved on bottom D.P.M.S. Special note: the part that goes into the upper is so well made it almost looks as if they made the mold from a upper yes it that good:) and on sale buy one :)

Fit my Stag Arms LEFTY upper perfectly! (Surprised - as everyone but Stag Arms seems to diss us left-eye shooters!) it was *quite* snug to push both pins in but the pins themselves were fine - a little gun lube helped!; the Delrin block itself is 1/10th-of-an-eyelash "off". But the snug fit is absolutely necessary when applying some serious muscle to your upper housing!!! Impossible to rate this device - and MidwayUSA's great price and in-stock service - highly enough! TWO THUMBS UP!!!!!

The pins that come with ...

The pins that come with this block are too big for the holes on an upper receiver. According to my calipers they're about .01 in too wide. Just enough to do damage if you try to force them. I've bought a few DPMS parts for this latest build, and I've found a spot where they cut corners on each end every one. Do you yourself a favor NEVER BUY DPMS they are the China of the AR-15 world.

Good product... but over ...

Good product... but over priced. Should be about $24.95. Front pin would not fit upper but an easy fix that took about 5 minutes. Use 400-600 Grit sandpaper and a drill. Take the key chain loop off. Put the pin in a drill like a bit. Wrap the sand paper around the pin and spin the drill. You will need to keep moving the paper to new areas as the pin cuts right through the paper. After about 15 seconds of polishing the pin check the fit. After a few tries mine fit perfect. Seems the pins diameter varies a bit. Coat with gun oil and your ready to use the tool to hold upper.

Absolutely worth its ...

Absolutely worth its weight in gold. Using this made the job ridiculously easy (once I centered my vise over the bench, not off the end). Along with the DPMS barrel wrench and some Kano Kroil (stuck-bolt oil), it was easy. It was also a big help during the assembly of the ejection port hardware and forward assist, providing a "3rd hand." I almost "cheaped out" and wasn't going to buy an action block for my receiver swap-out... that would NOT have been smart! Good luck with yours!
