This tool is designed to easily install or remove front sight blades from front sight ramps. Installation without mutilation. The Williams Front Sight Pusher equalizes the pressure on the ramp and front sight permitting installation or removal without damage to the sight or mounting area. Made of blue-black anodized alloy for a lifetime of trouble free service. The easy no-mar way to move the front sight blade without fear of damaging the sight.

Several attempts and excessive force ( vise grips on the T handle ), were required to budge the front sight on my 10/22. The Gnomes @ Ruger were throwing it deep the day they built my gun. However since I have two 10/22s and the front sights frequently take hits whilst on Zombie patrol, I judge it a worthwhile tool to have.

This is the best tool for the job, providing that you are doing conventional sporting ramp sights. My friends and I shoot several older sporters with an assortment of iron sights and this tool has been a gem for adjusting and replacing the front dovetail mounted beads. The ramp stays on and the sight is not damaged. If you are good, you can eaven push the pins on Redfields with it (mounting only)! Please pay attention to the fact that the dovetail has to fit the ramp, however. There is some variation to size and you may have to file to fit.

I tried to use this item to remove the front sight on a Ruger 10/22. I found it hard to align plus he nut that the main shaft threaded into worked free on the first use and then it was hard to turn the shaft. I finally got the old sight off but the tool didn't help placing the new sight. I am planning on returning the item ASAP and let a gunsmith replace my sights in the future.

The Williams Front Sight Pusher is somewhat awkward to get pushing straight, but with care one can work around this problem. One must also be careful to not cover the back side of the dovetail in case the sight is a little to wide and becomes damaged. On the whole, it did what it was supposed to do, and I am pleased with it. One improvement I would suggest is to list the tpi of the screw so one can estimate the distance one is pushing the sight.

I bought the tool to drift the front sights on my mauser and mosin nagant rifles. Small problem... The post claws are just slightly too wide to mount on the sight post to use the tool without modifying it. disappointing to say the least Williams should offer different width post / ramp claws for this tool. It's an expensive tool for the job it does.

I spent 30 minutes with a brass punch trying to remove the stock front sight from a 10/22 without even getting the sight to budge. Five minutes after I unpacked this pusher I had the old sight out and the new sight in. Granted, I was installing a Williams sight with a Williams sight pusher, but it was a piece of cake regardless.

I think this is a great ...

I think this is a great product as long as you use it for sights that go into a RAMP only. I used the Shorty ramps and the sights are a snap to install and remove. If the sight does not go easily, it has to be filed for a proper fit. The sight should fit into the dovetail initially and the pusher is used to get the sight in all the way. Be sure the back two prongs are on the ramp and not touching the dovetail sight. Be sure the single prong is properly aligned on the dovetail sight. Take your time, double check the alignment and don't force it. If you are using too much force, the sight is too tight and needs to be filed. File the base of the sight just a little and try again.

This product works well ...

This product works well on only the most basic SHORT front sights. It does not work at all on any type of Globe front sight, which tend to be taller than will fit into the tool.
