This steel 3/8" dovetail front sight incorporates a red Fire Sight fiber optic rod, which gathers ambient light and then focuses it into a pinpoint to provide a brilliant sight picture in bright light, and a useable sight picture in low light. May require minor fitting. Blue finish.

Notes:

Usually requires minor fitting. Gunsmith installation recommended.

Width dimension of sight should match width of front sight ramp on rifle.

.250 narrow width is for Williams Streamlined and shorty ramps

Most standard factory ramps from Winchester, Remington, Savage and others are .340 wide.

.531 width is for dovetailed barrels commonly found on 22 rimfire rifles and muzzleloaders

For anyone that's looking to replace the front sight on a Browning A-5 shotgun slug barrel, this is the one that will work with a little modification. The original front sight bead is just too hard to see, so I replaced mine and others for my hunting buddies with the Fire sight. However, you do need a sight vise to push the old sight out and push the new one in the sight ramp. With a small fine triangular file, you will also need to file a few strokes off both ends of the dovetail on the Firesight so it will fit into the existing dovetail. Not too much, as you still want a snug fit. Sounds like a lot, but it's really no big deal. Just take your time. This size Firesight is the proper height and width for the A-5's. Once it's on, you won't believe the difference!
