Designed to be used with jacketed or lead handgun bullets, the Thompson Center Mag Express sabots load easily and are designed to separate quickly from the bullet. They offer superior performance with conventional charges or magnum charges of up to 150 grains of black powder or Pyrodex equivalent (or three Pyrodex pellets).

Tried these in desperation in a 50 cal round ball barrel that has a couple rough spots and had previously been very finicky. With these sabots I used the same 300 grain LBT WFN heat treated cast bullets I shoot in my Blackhawk .45 Colt, (sized .452). Outstanding performance! 1.55" for 100 yard group with iron sights. Easy to clean the bore. Also fit my bore and loaded better than another sabot I tried. The other brand tended to cant the bullets slightly while starting, but these kept them perfectly straight. I am going to be ordering a "lifetime supply" because I am now finished with load development for this rifle, 20 years after building it. Your mileage may vary.

These worked flawlessly in my T/C Omega Z5. Set up at fifty yards to see what they were doing. "Glover leafs" with Gold Dot 230 gr Hollow points .451's. Opened up at the hundred to 2 inches. Much more cost effective (100 Bullets for 17.Bucks) Excellent for getting the scope dead on at the range.

I purchased these sabots so I could try a wide variety of bullets in my Lyman rifle and find which would give me the best accuracy. Success was sweet and I'm happy I tried these. These sabots are slick to the touch and I had no loading problems with over 400 rounds of testing and the normal gun care recommended by the powder makers.

I replace the sabot from ...

I replace the sabot from Barnes Spit-Fire T-MZ loads with these sabots, and they work great in my TC Omega. Most everyone has trouble with the Barnes T-MZ sabots being too big, but these work great. They are a little smaller diameter, and fit around the T-MZ bullet the same. I'm very lucky that I had these lying around when I found that the T-MZ loaded hard, because I might have not found out what a great load they were if not for these sabots.
