Made from aircraft quality aluminum, this hammer extension can be mounted for use by either left or right hand shooters. Practically required for any Contender or Encore equipped with a scope. Allows the shooter easy, safe access to the hammer. Works for any Encore and any Contender over serial number 196,000.

All New Model T/C Contenders (over approximately 196,000 serial number)

Notes:

Ambidextrous (can be mounted on right or left side of hammer)

Lock screw inside knurled end of extension tightens against side of hammer to "lock" the extension in place.

I am having to return this item. It makes contact with the factory wood pistol grip on my G-1 Contender regardless of which direction it faces and where I position it on the hammer. It is a nicely made piece and I wish it would have worked for me.

Two minor complaints, ...

Two minor complaints, neither of which will drop my rating. A) If it were symmetrical, it would be ambidextrous without having to remove it and flip it over; and B) The instructions say to insert it at least flush with the rear of the hammer - that won't allow it to cock on my T/C plastic stock. It has to be mounted farther forward - I push it as far forward as it will go, and everything works fine.

Functional and well-thought out product at a reasonable price. Makes working the hammer with a scoped Encore much easier when your head is on the comb. Follow included instructions to create a small dimple with the set screw inside the spur (Allen key included) to prevent the hammer spur from slipping and keep it tight (I've been checking it during rifle cleanings). I'd suggest this as the first upgrade to any scoped Encore.

Well made part. A must have if using a scope on an Encore for both convenience and safety. Directions for installation clear and concise (I know it's a simple part but read them anyway). Highly recommended.

Well made product. Installs easily and provides safe access to hammer spur when a scope is installed. As with any hammer spur extension, the factory supplied child safety hammer lock can no longer be employed unless the extension is removed.
