Product Information

MatchKing rifle bullets are super-accurate bullets with very thin jackets and are held to exacting tolerances in diameter and weight. Their accuracy has been acclaimed worldwide and they have been used to win more target competitions than all target bullets from other manufacturers combined. Weight retention is held to within +/- 0.3 grain. Each bullet is a hollow point and is designed with a very small meplat in order to achieve the highest ballistic coefficient possible. This is not loaded ammunition.

This is my first purchase ...

This is my first purchase of Sierra matchking. I purchased 135 gr. for a .270 Winchester. I use a Hornady OAL bullet comparator and was unable to get consistent readings bullet to bullet. I decided to check the ogive and out of 100 bullets there were 6 different measurements ranging from 0.628 to 0.646. Which means for every different measurement I'm going to have to reset the seating die. Since this is my first attempt at this type of accuracy reloading I don't know if this is a common occurrence.

Loaded these in Remington ...

Loaded these in Remington and Winchester brass with IMR4350 and RL-22. Fired out of my Savage 14 in .270WSM grouped 1.25"@220yards. At 350+yards 4"sq plates no problem. Tested these up to 12mph wind(20-30deg) no problem. I love the way these fly. Now I've got to try the GameKings, next...

These bullets shoot very ...

These bullets shoot very well out of my Tikka M695. I load them with H4831 and get .4 inch groups at 100 yards. I couldn't be more pleased with the performance of Sierra MatchKing bullets. They deserve five stars without a doubt.

Shoot these at long ...

Shoot these at long distance when no wind is present. Excellent value for a .488 BC. I like that it has no cannelure. Very accurate.

I own a post 64 ...

I own a post 64 Winchester M70 chambered in 270WSM with a Hart #10 MTU Contour SS 1:10 26" barrel. I seat these bullets right on the lands on top of IMR-4350 in Winchester Brass. They crank out at 3250fps, and give me sub .5 MOA at 100yds. I have fired this round in 10 to 12 mph winds at targets at and over 600 yds, and held Zero Wind on 12"X12" targets! They are an A++ is my book!

These are some amazing ...

These are some amazing bullets! The bullets group amazing well and most of all they can drop a 200 pound whitetail dead in its tracks. I shoot these bullets out of a Winchester Model 70 Coyote 270WSM. My load of choice is H4831sc seated just off the lands. These bullets shoot consistent with groups ranging under .15 MOA at 100 yards. I would suggest this bullet for anybody who is looking for a great grouping/performing bullet.

I use this for a .270 ...

I use this for a .270 Winchester load through a Rem 700 Sendero. Running at about 2750 fps with a moderate volume of H4831, this yields about 1/3 moa (still runs supersonic past 1100 yards). On game performance resulted in a quick kill but virtually no expansion and pass through: very little tissue disruption.

These are excellent ...

These are excellent performers. I use them for target shooting with a heavy barrel remington 700 chambered in 270win. Using IMR-4350 I am able to get three round groups that are less than an 1/8th of an inch at 100 yards consistently.

Smokes Scirroco in pure ...

Smokes Scirroco in pure accuracy, not so much on expansion though. Pulls off 1/2" 3 shot groups @ 100yds w Sav 110. About 1 mil drop at 400yds w 100yd zero. A must use bullet for pure accuracy in a 270 IMO.
