First timers should ...

First timers should proceed slowly as some S&W models have slight differences. I used my digital camera to take internal pics prior to disassembly. Aside from one or two nuances, the DVD is adequate for the hobby gun smith. You do need the Wheeler tool mentioned in the video (available in the Wheeler gunsmith screwdriver set) to re-install the rebound spring, it's pretty much impossible without it. Having never done it before, I was able to disassemble, clean, inspect, lubricate and re-assemble all four of my S&W revolvers. Also installed trigger upgrade kits in two of them with outstanding results.

Since I have two ...

Since I have two J-Frames, I really needed this video. Watch it two or three times before you dive into you're J-Frames. Afterwards you will be an expert, trust me. I take mine apart after a day at the range and it amazes me how much gunk is inside the guns. It also teaches you other tips and tricks like "tuning" the trigger. Filing the sear and other internal parts for smother operation. It's a must have for Armorer's.

Good presentation of the internals and relationships of the parts of the revolver. Clear very good quality video with detailed descriptions of steps involved in the disassembly and assembly of the S&W.

Excellent DVD. Great info ...

Excellent DVD. Great info and it all worked the first time. My S&W Revolver is now as good as any.Would have liked to see a word of caution on not taking anything else apart. I took the cylinder push bar out and not knowing, a spring let go and the cylinder would not turn. Found the problem and all is well now. Would like to see a more detailed DVD on the complete gun.

I really liked and ...

I really liked and learned a lot from watching this DVD. I, myself, own S&W 28,29,and 60 revolvers so practically everything covered was applicable to things I want to do.Larry is a lot more likeable than someone, I won't mention who, from another producer of gunsmithing DVDs. He's easy to listen to.My only criticism is that some of the segments of the DVD need to be expanded and more details added. Of course, I'm one of those guys who can never get enough detail about a process or a job. Other than that, I highly recommend the "Gunsmithing the S&W Revolver DVD" to anyone who is interested in this fantastic revolver. Even if one doesn't intend on "working" on the revolver, the DVD has lots of interesting stuff. I'd be interested if you could produce a DVD about the 1911 pistol.
