Recoil buffers are an easy and inexpensive way to eliminate damage of critical components by preventing the metal to metal contact of the slide or breech block with the frame. Made from a high density polyurethane formulated for maximum shock-absorbing characteristics, the recoil buffer is a drop-in part.

Technical Information

Material: Polyurethane

Notes:

Recoil buffer installs between bolt or bolt carrier and whatever the bolt or bolt carrier stops against when the bolt is fully retracted during firing (installation location varies with the specific firearm).

Buffer absorbs the shock from the action operating, rather than having metal to metal contact at the end of the bolt travel.

Service life of the buffer is 800 to 1,000 rounds.

Buffer will not be damaged by oils or solvents.

This allows me to shoot Bullseye with CCI Standard velocity ammo and then load up some cheap bulk Federal and shoot steel challange. The only thing I don't like is its easy to loose the buffer when taking off the barrel. Its drops out.

Works for me. I"m able to shoot standard velocity match ammo for bullseye then shoot some faster hotter cheaper ammo for Steel Challenge without any frame/slide damage. Nice not having to swap recoil springs for different ammo.

My 41 would not function reliably with the usual recommended CCI Standard Velocity. I installed this buffer and use readily available (and inexpensive) Federal Auto Match; function is 100%.

Based on two reviews and the fact that some .22 caliber autos come from the manufacturer with a slide buffer, I gave it a try. After much experimenting with spring calibration kits and ammo, I had settled on a factory slide (recoil) spring and two brands of 100% reliable standard vel. ammo for my M41. After installing this buffer and testing, I found stove pipes, failure to feed and failure to strip rounds from the magazine with five brands of S.V. and H.V. ammo. Even the "works -in-everything" CCI Mini Mag was hopeless. One good thing was the fact this buffer was easy to remove. This final step proved my 41 was back to 100% reliable. Use the ammo this pistol was designed for and shoot the HV in something else.

Installed the buffer in my Model 41. Can tell the difference, in that the cycling was much better not the hard hit every round. No stove pipes with any of the three barrels no matter what load.

Anyone who owns a 41 ...

Anyone who owns a 41 should use this. It protects the frame from battering. It also enables this gun to fire High Velocity and Hyper ammo, especially with an 8lb recoil spring, with no damage to the gun at all.
