This product simply won't ...

This product simply won't prevent rust. I sprayed several gun oils onto separate steel sheets and then sprayed salt water onto each sheet. The Rem Oil with MoistureGuard was one of the worst performers. There was rust everywhere, so I stopped using it as a bore lubricant and protectant and sought out something that actually works. The best one I've found to prevent rust is Otis 'special forces' Dry Lube - it's sold as a liquid, but MidwayUSA only seems to carry it as a spray. Either seems to work very well and don't leave the surface wet. There is no need to dry-patch the bore prior to shooting with either of those products.

Overall, this appears to ...

Overall, this appears to be a very good product. It sprays out in a very light mist, and provide a nice thin coat of oil that doesn't appear to dry out. I am currently using this to lube the bores of my handguns after cleaning. I put a patch into a loop, and spray a light amount on the patch and put it in the barrel. If it performs as good as regular Rem-oil has, it should be great.
